I was having trouble with my circuit board so I replaced it. Now my Combustion blower will not shut off. Even after I turn the unit off it continues to run even after the stove gets cold. I have to pull the plug to get it to stop. I called Harman and got the correct dipswitch settings prior to installing the new board. So I don't think that's the problem. Does anyone have any idea why this may be happening? Thanks for any help you can give me.

That is a common problem with that stove. I had it and they put in a revised board. Not 100% sure, but I believe I ended up shutting it off by using the feed rate control.

Exaust fans on Harmans can run for up to five hours after shut down per the manual.

When you say the combustion blower continues to run even after the stove gets cold, how cold are you talking? How long after you turn the stove off do you end up pulling the plug?

I would say a good 2-3 hours. Now that i see what BIOBURNER has to say, maybe it is normal. I will have to take note on my next burn. I will get it good and hot and than stop the feed and see how long it runs. I know last year the combustion blower would shut off once the stove was cold to touch.

Thanks Tom- seems to me that once I shut the stove off, which stops the auger, the blower should shut off once it cooled down without having to adjust the feed rate.

Make sure igniter is not sticking on. After shutdown and stove feels cool and unit is still running open door and put hand near burn pot and see if it is hot. I have seen this happen.

Page 25 of my manual, Trouble shooting, Combustion blower runs after shutdown, "This is a normal function. The combustion blower will run for 5 hours after the stove is completely cool." Pain in the a-- because if your oaking things can get very cold only to crank up and reheat the unit wasting energy- pellets. I run in manual mode to keep stove from cycling when it's a bit warmer.

Here is what happened today. I set my room temp to 70 degrees, when it reached that general temp it stopped burning pellets andthe stove cooled down. I let the combustion blower run for a good 6 or 7 hours before I pulled the plug to stop it. Also here is another issue, the stove should have fed pellets into the burn pot and reignite because the room temp dropped to probably 60 degrees and it didn't.

If you just replaced board it doesn't rule out getting another bum board. One reason I jumped on getting a second like kind stove. A quick swap out of a working unit will hopefully keep my headaches to a minimum. Predicting a colder than normal winter here with normal snow of about 50". Good luck

yea, pretty important to get the right switch settings based upon the series of board you have......especially number 5

Did you ever resolve the blower issue with your P68? Is it normal for it to run for hours after you turn it off?

What??? That's just plain ridiculous. Can't be true though..... given what they cost, they can't possibly have ANY flaws.

Just had the same thing with a customers stove, looked at the ESP probe and it was turned at a 90 degree angle. Replaced it and the stove was fine.
