What are they fertilizing?
The cranberry bogs.. The chopper has been working this area all day.. Don't recall seeing them do this in Nov. before though.

My wife comes from Norwell- bogs behind the house. They used the choppers to, I think, blow the berries off the bushes for dry harvest?
The choppers only apply fertilizer and pesticides go through the sprinklers system and generally at night. They wait until calm conditions for both. As far as I know they use scoops and pretty much hand pick for dry harvest but I'm sure they have machines too.. Have bogs all around me and these are all wet picked..

Cranberry bogs my azz, did your state pass a pot bill too?

zap
If those are pot plants they sure are small lol.. Actually I think that did pass. I voted for it and have always felt it should be legal and regulated like alcohol. I don't smoke it but have no issue with those who do as long as they drive sober. Apparently it helps cancer patients handle chemo side effects which is a good thing.

Interesting I wonder if I know them? I have been here for 25 years and it's a good place to live..If it's fire dept. people the retired fire chief lives on my street..

I dont think I ever saw a helicopter fertilize before. that is really cool Ray thanks for posting that !

Ray, we used to love watching the helicopters spraying potato fields. That is, until the tater factory left the area and now not so many taters grown. This was near Greenville, MI.

That's sad Dennis! Been watching the bogs for 25 years here.. Don't think these will ever go away as they are always well kept..

Ray

Does that shake your house the whole time or is it farther away ?

Not really but it can get loud and a bit windy.. The best chopper pilots are Vietnam vets as they worked in tight spots all the time..

Here is a good close shot..

Don't know how long ago you were talking about but there are still quite a few up in that area and over around Stanton Edmore area.
