Got my Gator back!

Just got my tanned gator hide back from the tannery!

My 19 month old was a lil scared but he wife was excited as it was "our" gator. She was 2 months pregnant and went gator hunting. She jumped right in and got the job done.

How long was it? Looks like a large gator. When I saw your gator I thought of that tv show Swamp People.
How did you kill it? You didn't get it in Ohio did you?

No that was shot in SC. We bowhunt them, use a fishing line on a breakaway arrow. Pull them back to the boat or pull the boat to them! And finish them with a .45 to the head. I've hunted them three different years and shot three personally. They're a lot of fun to go after. Have friends down there and gone with them on many hunts. Nice thing is down there as long as you have a license you can be a part of the hunt in any way. Just need a tag on the boat.

Seems every few years we hear stories of an alligator around Akron being caught by a fisherman. My thought is someone thinks it will make a cool pet then it gets too big and they let it go.

I've seen some big gators and that's a big gator...saw the picture you posted when you shot it.....you can even feed a "tame" gator by hand but it's hard to judge when they will move their head and tail and they run really fast in short spurts...get a gecko...

LOL. Not exactly what I was thinking when I posted. I must really be getting old. That obvious response never occurred to me.

Nice gator, Swag. There is NO WAY IN HELL the wife would let me tan a hide like that and bring it into the house. She hates my deer mounts and the European skull I have. She'd FREAK with that thing.

As for gator, some great eatin' right there. Love that stuff, I could eat it once a week. If I lived down south, I'd be all about hunting them gators and feral hogs.
