In The Woods
this Maple from up top, I start hauling it down on Thanksgiving in the morning. We brought in the last of the Pine which was stacked there so it made room for a NY face cord. :p

Pic 6000 & 6006 are the Maple up top.

Nice pics
Looks like some nice working weather ;)

Looks great zap.

Right Dave. Enjoy it zap, this is going to change really soon. 61 forecast for tomorrow here then colder with snow showers moving in. Naturally with the colder air there will be some windy conditions too. Beware in the woods!

Bogydave, temps will be about 50 tomorrow, t-shirt weather in the woods.
Thistle, it's getting there. I would like all the split stuff out of the woods back home that way I can work the woods around the house this winter, do some burning in the fireplace.
Will do Sav, I saw this morning the weather change coming for this weekend. I think below Watertown NY they might get the first lake effect snow.

zap, they are forecasting quite a bit of lake effect all over the Great Lakes this weekend.

We used to go for Thanksgiving in Syracuse at my sisters but we had a few rides that my father did not like (ice & snow) so he won't go down anymore so we stay home too.

I still have room, changed plans this morning. Moved the last of the Pine out of the house and we replaced it with Cherry, the Pine never wanted to get over 300 on the stack temp.

Cleaned the chimney just to make sure it was clear which it was. This was the Pine that was down since 2008, it's next to the outdoor fireplace which we'll burn sometime down the road.

I did start a fire in the Lopi with some Cherry just to make sure it was the Pine, the Cherry had the stack temp at 450 before I cut it back. PP = Punky Pine

Happy Thanksgiving

I never did get any of the wood off the hill but we did move some wood inside before we get the colder weather. I'll get the majority of the wood from up top down tomorrow, once that's done the other wood is on the lower half of our property so if we get some snow I can still get that with chains on the Rhino.

Zap, it is warm today but also a bit windy. The wind is supposed to get worse and falling temperatures tomorrow. Back to reality we go.

Tomorrow the high will be in the low 50's, Saturday the high will be 29 with a low about 12, yep reality. The difference this year is we will burn the beech an sugar maple once it gets real cold.

I finally brought three loads of the sugar maple (my guess) from up top today. Pic 6426 is my route in an out,6427 is my new route out or in (just needed to clear some dead wood off the forest floor, 6428 is where the original owner use to sugar, the rest of the pics are from hauling it back home.
