Is there another brand besides Gleason Avery for gear reduction motors for augers? Such as for Harmans ??
 
.....IMHO the gleasons are built about the best. They use bearings where others use bushings.

I agree...they are the best gear motors (auger) that I've seen, PLUS being a very reasonable price.
 
I think QuadraFire is the only one stepping away from Gleason-Avery motors and they seem to work with their different style auger.

That's a Jason Munson article...you have to read through what he is saying and understand he parades around as a pellet stove guru looking to be paid for giving advice, spamming here occasionally and generally looking out for number 1...his ambition bites the nails of his success.
Anyone who openly considers themselves "The World's Greatest Pellet Stove Expert" ought to tell you enough.
 
OK, thanks smwilliamson.. just wondering if there is a quieter motor available....
