Ifn I had two grand to toss around, I'd buy it! More of a play toy though. Don't expect to go into the pellet business with it. If you have lots of free time you can put a dent in your fuel supply. Doesn't have a lot of power to make really dense pellets, Still could be a fun hobby though!

You still need a hammer mill! And binding agent, and cooling racks, and cement mixer to blend the binding agent to the wood particles, and empty sand bags to put the pellets in once they are cool, and a good supply of wood chips to hammer mill. I was THIS close to doing it................... Then reality set in.

LOL...this discussion comes up often with my pellet burning neighbor. While it'd be a fun hobby trying to pelletize yard waste, etc., the economics of it just don't work when we can buy good commercial wood pellets for under $4 a bag regularly. It'd be great to be self sufficient like that and all, but it'd be difficult to produce as good as we can purchase....and the headaches the inferior pellets bring with them...yeesh!

I would rather spend the $2000 on cocaine and prostitutes than attempt to make a pellet mill.

I would think you'd spend more than $4 in diesel fuel per bag.

I spent more than that last year, maybe another hobby of making pellets will curb my prostitute habit.
