Very cool, very cool!

Look for an addition to my website coming in spring of 2013 called Pellet Stove Service Labs. Of coarse I will post a link when its all up, but work is already under way!

For those of of you who do not know me personally, aside from being a business owner and a savvy pellet stove tech, I'm also a dreamer, tinkerer and artist...of sorts.

Recently I have made some investments to grow my company and part of the overall plan is to get me out of the day to day service stuff a little bit so I can dream, tinker and create. My Labs will be home for a great many pellet stove solutions I have been playing around in my head.

Our very first Labs prototype will be be launching on Kickstarter.com in the spring with prototypes available for beta testing...and guess what? You all will be in the front row.

The first offering is top secret at the moment by as I roll it out, I will update this thread, so stay tuned.

....I bet you all wicked curious now aren't you?;)

Additionally, if any of you have problems you may want our stove labbies to consider a solution for...well, that's the purpose of the labs, let us know.

Okanagan pellet cleaner?

That's great, My Lab will need a bath, nails trimmed and ears cleaned...How much??

Will the new lab be in the back corner of your garage next to the venting inventory? Will you be constructing a new building or using the old horse stables?

Something like the Quadrafire Blackwell house for pellet stove testing would be nice. :)
The siding and windows are nothing fancy but it does the job.

Should be interesting!
I only wish that someday I will have that kind of capital to construct a permanent playground for all of my earth moving ideas:)

I have 6 horse stalls out back but am not going to use those...I would have to run an 1100 foot extension cord for power! My business partner (wife) and I have been talking about moving to route 44 and getting a warehouse/ showroom space...if I can finally get the OK from Enviro for a dealership...I just may. Working on it. Regardless, yes, we are moving out of the 30x30 garage, hopefully in the spring, and our labs will be out in the parking lot under a tent that says TOP SECRET KEEP OUT!:p

Why not? I heard a place in CT has a horse farm and are making horse poo bricks for wood eaters. Sounds interesting and hopefully it could become a pellet source.

I see a mad scientist at work sign just under the top secret keep out! ::-)

The secret tent or room in big companies is called"Skunkworks"
Here is a link to the history of the terms derivation.

With 6 stalls you can have a stove testing in each one! The stoveguyESW would like something like that. A generator can be used until the trench is dug for the electrical. I used 240v running 10-3 guage direct burial roamex wire running 95 feet with 2 - 120v circuits in a subpanel for my lab. It did not cost me much for the new construction, I did the foundation myself, all the electrical with a little help from my son and we did all the insulation and paneling. Just need a nice ceiling and floor now.

Good luck, the Enviro territory is pretty well covered already.

Sorry, no horse droppings for pellets....that is not what I'm working on, I would make a move to pelletize oak leaves first.

How is that black olive cooking? Did u sell alot?

Leaves are just about as dirty as bark, Very ashy IMHO. But free fiber every fall(gotta rush to get em pelletized for you need em). There are lots of things you can pelletize including all your junk-mail.

There is this fella that used to hang around here and I bet he would have some dandy(maybe even a bit out there) Idea's! Do you remember Pook?

No hints on what the mad scientist is up too?

human poo to pellet maker? free fuel!
how about a 'natural' gas hook up? I'll just eat beans all the time.

That's way too much for me.. I have 1.76 acre but only fertilize around the front, side and one other area.. The rest has to fight for survival lol..

Congrats Scott. Hope you do well.

Scott I am with dexter, and I will be watching this closely. I want to wish you and your wife lots of luck with this endeavor!

Sounds exciting Scott, best of luck to you and the Missus!

If you could get it to work with the 8000 series honeywells that would be great. So much more expandable and have been proven to be more than reliable. Its nice to have everything on one stat. I currently have my 2 compressor stages of heating and cooling from my heat pump and also my electric aux heat on the honeywell and view humidity and outdoor temperature. It would be nice to use the outdoor sensor to operate the pellet stove at temps under a predermined temp say around 40 to shut down the heat pump and run the stove. It can be done using a furnace heat pump combo but i dont think it can be done without modification to run a Harman.
