Hello

Well, I had a Breckwell and Magnum Baby CountrySide auger jams using Home Depot Fire Side Ultra wood pellets today! !

This years FireSide Ultra's are loaded with fines!

Pics below show the Breckwell Golden Eagle 5520. Only a year old and jammed up!

I am a little dissappointed with the engineering and quality of the newest Breckwells. Should the auger cover be round? Then pellets would not get stuck so easily?
I did the "Dry Moly Spray" on the auger cover before putting it back.
Also why the rope gasket at the top of the auger cover? If the parts fit together better then it would not be needed?

I fixed a blinking #2 light by cleaning the blowers. I also fixed some of the blinking #3 light by fixing the auger jam, but still get the blinking #3 because there is no way to tighten up the ash pan door!
Both knobs on the ash pan broke! Wow are they cheap! Any suggestions for a better modified knob or hardware?

Looks just like the auger setup on my 6041. Never had an auger jam on mine. Any moisture in those pellets? Looks more like oatmeal stuck to the auger than fines.

On my 6041 the rope gasket and some silicone covers the gap at the top of the auger chute where the pellets drop into the burn pot. On my stove the silicone came loose and the rope gasket was off centered, so a bunch of fines dropped down into the body of the stove.

Isn't the Golden Eagle nothing more than a straight up USSC stove with the Breckwell name plate plastered on it? I know USSC bought Breckwell, just saying this seems to be pretty much an attempt to use Breckwells name to sell a few more stoves without doing any actual work to make a decent stove.

I would say it looks more like a Breckwell, like the Big E. It has the Breckwell 1 RPM control board too. The quality is not up there, that is for sure.
Here is a link to the manual > http://www.ruralking.com/media/blfa_files/US_Stove_Golden_Eagle_Pellet_Stove_5520_Manual.pdf

The stove is only $1399 brand new?

The pellets look wet IMHO.
I agree.
I was given some bags of pellets last year by a friend who had flood damage, and he was going to throw them away (still salvaged about 3/4 bag of good pellets from each bag)......they looked the same as the ones in that pic.
