Took a walk in my woods this week,lo and behold hurricane, Sandy dropped about 4 cherrys and damaged another still standing, guess I gotta get em cut and hauled.I consider cherrys weeds but they smell good burning and for some reason throw a lot of heat in my stove.Okay I'll post the pics tomorrow.

Are they good sized? Would be nice to have some nice sized splits. I have a small amount seasoning till next year, see how it burns and smells. There's a bunch at the street by me I plan on getting before the town comes.

Cherry and maple is most of what I currently burn. Great wood for this time of year.

cherry is some great smelling wood when burned, i go outsied to smell it coming out the chimney.

Cherry is a good one. Easier splitting and seasoned in one year. While it is no Black Locust, it is not a weed in my book.

Is there some reason you consider this as weeds?

Here's my cherrys I'm gonna start working on,spent a couple hours clearing paths to the fallen and damaged trees, gonna start cutting and hauling this week,at least my 2 deer stands are intact as is the my estate.I call cherry weeds cause we got so much of it,and it grows like weeds. The piles of locust are covered, and I've got a little wood as shown in my aerial shot. Nice pics OLA, lots of nice rounds and the obligatory pic of the quad lookin' bad >>.

Thanks for the pictures OLA. They have been long awaited. That wood ought to get you through January.
Get them cherry trees up before the snow hits.

That weed sure did a fantastic job of smoking my turkey on Thursday.

Nice pictures.
If I was close, i'd come haul the weeds off for you ;)
