I'd just mask everthing off and give it a quick spray with black stove paint.(the entire interior venting).

Of course using proper ventilation.

I sprayed it down with the high temp spray and it looks so much better!

Who is Carl? The only man visiting me is my husband.

And that was said that as she stood with hands on her hips, moving her head side to side, and a "stern" tone.

Carl is fellow who did stove installations and didn't do that good of a job, it seemed to Scott that he was always correcting Carl's messes.

Mommyof4, the question I have at this point are these:

1. Is the stove burning OK and without any smoke in the room, and

2. did you get around to replacing that computer surge strip with something better, like the TrippLite UltraBlok I mentioned way back in the beginning of this thread?

1) There was a little bit of smoke in the beginning, but I was informed that it could've been the lubricant burning off. We checked for carbon monoxide and it was fine.

2) Yes.

I just read this thread from the beginning. You guys rock. Patience, good advice with explanations, pictures, follow up, referrals, and a satisfactory finish. Another satisfied Hearth customer!
