Once I get my tank for water storage i was thinking of taking it to the local shop in town to have it steam cleaned if it's not going to cost too much. Has anyone had this done? I've read a few posts about pressure washing them but a pressure washer i do not have nor do i have water in my shop yet and it is now winter. I fear bad things if I try to do it outside. The temps today were below zero F. What if i just flush it a bit once its in place and put a filter on it and pump the bejesus out of it for a day or two???

Call wood boiler solutions in waupon wi. also known as precision chemicals He will set up up with cleaner and conditioner. If you buy the powder it's cheaper than the liquid.

I didn't realize wood boilers solutions and precision chem were the same. I actually used their 101 and 102 treatments when I installed my boiler.

How much did you save with the powder? I'm close to hooking up 1000 gallons of storage myself and will need to buy some more.

I can't remember how much I saved exactly. Call Mike, he is very helpful. At the time he told me it would be cheaper for the powder especially since with 1000 gallons of water.

You are going to love having storage. I went one year without it and this is my second with storage. It really adds a lot of convienience.

Normally the inside of used propane tanks is quite clean.

We use a product called Mercapolite 200 mixed with bleach and it does a real nice job of cleaning the remaining mercapicin and reducing the smell by 90% or better.

I used bleach in my small tank, Mike at precision chemicals told me after the fact that bleach is not the best thing to use because it corrosive and causes rapid rusting.

Where do you get the Mercapolite 200?
