Took a few pics of my stacks today, I stack it all out in the weather with no top cover, than move it into those 3 "bins" late fall or so

Everything is scrounged off C/L mixtures of Fir,Pine,Big Leaf Maple, Alder and even some Elm. Figure i got 8 to 9 cords

Stuff in the bin on left is what I am burning now (Fir) Bins are stacked 3 deep, other stacks are as well

Very nice tidy system you got there. Are the bins made from pallets?

Great stacks and pics. Thanks for sharing.

AWESOME stacks.
SIL/BIL live in Kent. Now is the wet time of the year.

Having some dry/covered stacks is a good to have ;)
Nice set up

Storm hitting you bad now? Weather says PNW getting hammered.

Dude...That is awsome :) Fill that fence up will ya. Looks real neat. I like your style!!

steady rain, but nothing too bad right now,wind/rain suppose to pick up later tonight and morning, Last Friday night/Sat morn was very windy with rain.looks like heavy rain all this week

Think the weather guessers are calling for a wetter/warmer winter than norm for this year:mad: I sure wish it would get cold out

Jatoxico - the bins have shipping skids made out of 4"x4" on the bottoms and 2x6 slats that the wood is stacked on, I get some good skids from work that are great for stacking on

There you go, criss cross those ends of your stacks and you can do away with those t-posts.
Took me a year of two to figure that out, but now I'm saving money by not buying t-post.
Nice looking stacks, I give you alot of credit for splitting by hand. Good Job. Way to go.

Looking great Elder! The cross-stream/creek stack has to be a Hearth.com first. Truly worthy of the FHC, Ltd.

LOL, not all split by hand, most was split with my Iron & Oak splitter especially the Maple and Elm, although I due split by hand as well, sometimes it is faster than hauling the splitter out

Oh I saw a couple Fiskars laying there and I just assumed.
Gotta love the Iron & Oak splitter. When I first started I used to rent an Iron & Oak and really loved it.
I just couldn't justify the price. I do love my Huskee though.

I bought my I&O used off C/L, got a decent deal on it, I use my Fiskars primarily if I need to quarter the rounds to get them on the truck when I go scrounging, but like I said I also hand split at home as well, just not as much as I use the splitter

That's a lot of hard work in those stacks! Nice to see that a few Fiskars are helping you out! Nothing like splitting by hand! No need for a gym membership!

Nice work there elderthewelder. Plenty of BTUs for a while. And a good price.

Holy hills. Them rounds ever get away from you?

oh yeah, had to fish some rounds out of the creek a time or 2, as you can see my backyard is not exactly flat, makes stacking a challenge

Those are some nice stacks ! Keep up the hard work. Wish I had some stacks like that.....
