Got a full truck load of 4' and 2' 2x4s, and they were happy to give them to me. I stuffed my truck as full as I could. Best part is they will continually have more. I'm using them to construct pallet racks. One pallet and a few 2x4s and I have a rack, tried using three pallets and it worked but didn't like the look. I think the pallet and 2x4 combo looks a lil cleaner. Will stack into these from splitter pile and move to dry then move into the garage a few years from now to load the stove! Stove just inside the house from garage. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354681090.759466.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1354681104.029331.jpg

Very nice. What a deal!

Great deal.
Make some heavy duty pallets & kindling too .
I'd get all I could, 2 & 4' 2X4s always come in handy ;)

Great score.Plenty of ideas for those.

How did you come by them? Construction site or what?

My brother pours concrete walls for houses. I. Stopped by their shop and saw pile of them sitting there. They said they just wanted to get rid of them and be glad to see them go. They get some forms in these 2'x4' frames and just throw em away. So I'll be getting more, can never run out of uses for 2x4s

Good deal . . . get enough and you might even be able to build a woodshed between them and the pallets.

And any scraps can be used for kindling.

My grandma had one of those old kitchen stoves that she heated her house with and did most of her cooking on. Directly across the alley way from my Grandmother's house was a truss making shop, and they built a small access chute out the back wall facing my Grandma's place where they use to dump short 2x4 and 2x6 cut offs. That's all the wood she ever used or needed. What a great set up she had, she never had to stockpile much more than a days worth of wood in her house.

You got that right. She was Ukrainiane, she made the best borscht, perogies and cabbage rolls I've ever eaten. If she was still alive today I'd still be visiting her every weekend :) ,,,,,,,,,,,,, and I'd probably weight over 300 lbs. <>

Swagler, that is good use of the scrap lumber. When you get too many you can also use them for keeping your family warm.
