... Will not be missed.

It's like the stoves are trying, and failing, to bench press this weather.

Yea, not going to be ice fishing by Christmas this year, yet again.

This weather is usually the type of crap we have to put up with in October/November.

5 days of rain blows.

struggling to clean the yard....still got stuff the C/S/S...the place is a mess<>

We started at 50 degrees at ten o'clock and the forecast goes up one degree an hour until tomorrow afternoon. I turned on a couple of heaters. But thankfully it isn't that two times a year when the wind shifts out of the south unexpectedly and I don't look back at the forecast until after I have stuffed the stove. Forecast low when I go to load. 30. Forecast low after it is kickin 50. Whoops!

You read my mind. I told the wife I wanna kick the Christmas tree out the door, pack up the van and go to northern Alberta. At least it'll be freezing cold up there and FEEL like Christmas. I'm starting to think about moving to Seattle.....I think we get more rain than they do anymore!

I checked the records a few years ago Scotty and we have always gotten more annual rainfall than Seattle.

I know....me too. It has been a total SWAMP up here lately. You walk across the backyard and you're covered with muck and mud. Like BBar said, 5 days of nothing but rain just plain sux. Really dampens your spirits.

Warmed up here, 30°f at 10 PM here. 1 - 2" of snow forecast for tonight.
Forecast is to be in the teens & low 20s for a while with some snow, more " the norm" for this time of the year.

Fairbanks areas to get above 0°f & some more snow forecast.

With no snow & the below zero temps, all the lakes here are near 2' thick. Fun to drive on :) .

Weather Forecast is calling for rain on Tuesday.

"Partly cloudy in the morning, then overcast. High of 21F. Winds less than 5 mph. Chance of rain 50%."

I'd just LOVE to know how it's going to rain with a HIGH of 21* and a low of 10*

I put very little faith in the weather reports for here. I'd be surprised if they have a 20% accuracy over the course of a year.

Dave... "all" the lakes aren't all that thick. One of my friends went ice fishing last weekend and he said one of the lakes he was at only had 6-7" of ice in some of the spots.

Their dumb way of saying it's going to be ice?

Come on up Scotty, the ground is white up here although not real cold by our standards. We'll have a white xmas for sure. We seem to be getting it here a couple of inches each day.

Ugh I know. They keep saying that we wont have a repeat of last year... however besides the unusually cold November it sure feels like we are. On Saturday morning I woke up to 73F in the living room, loaded 4 smallish splits.... And that room was 76F 12hours later at 7pm. I just let the stove die out.

At least we haven't had as much rain as some of you guys further south.

Its going to be 60 today. :(

Ok, I FINALLY top covered all the stacks for the winter yesterday. I'm glad I did, because right at this moment its pouring like a summer thunderstorm out there.

ugh.

Yea, finding the warm spot on an iced over lake is good fishing but not always a good place to park ;)
The lake out back is over 2' thick , it's only a 3-1/2' deep lake so it's mostly frozen to the bottom.
Big, deeper lakes have currents .
Big Lake is one where local knowledge is key, keeps you dry & your vehicle windows above water ;)

Alaska has been unusually cold. (They hog it all) (trying to post image here.....)

Yesterday was first in December that the max reached the normal min. Or you could say, the first it has gotten above -10.
That was Fairbanks.....
