Found somebody's pictures of how their stove was running, and had me thinking about mine.

This is my 2nd season with P-43. This is stove temp mode, on 4, with feed rate @ 5, Maine pellets, 1 hour after I started the stove this Am. The pellets never get to that 1" from the edge ive heard about. Does this look normall ?? When im running low, I can see the auger and flame at bottom of pot.

Looks like my P38 burn lately since I been using Lignetics. Ash builds up at the edge of the fire and needs a quick sweep at least 2 times a day cause they don`t get blown or pushed over the edge as much as with other pellets.
The ligs are hot but ashes and dust are much more than I`m used to.

I scraped burn pot, but havnt cleaned stove since thanksgiving, maybe 15 or 20 bags ?

Let me re phrase. Is the elevation ( quantity) of pellets in burn pot seem correct ? Or is it too low.

The only time you will see the fire and the pellets at the 1 inch mark from the edge of the burnpot is when you have the stove on "wide open throttle" or if you are trying to heat up a very cold room with a cold start on the stove. The feed rate on any Harman should be about 4 and is a "set it and forget it" adjustment that doesn't need to be touched all season. Have you ever done the wide open burn to set your feed rate? If you click on the link in my signature, the instructions are there how to do it as well as all the info you will need to know about proper Harman operation. Let us know.

Iron.....This looks just right for burning your Harman on low (feed rate at 4 and stove temp on 1 or 2) I would think that the flame would be higher and the burn pot fuller with the settings that you are using. I do not think that this is a pellet issue, just based on the amount of pellets in the burnpot. But for certain, I would expect a bigger flame and more pellets feeding.
Dumb question, but do you by chance have the external thermostat wire attached in the back? Does the stove think it;s running on room temp?

No, never did that. Ill read it, and give it a try, see how that effects it.

Its also in your manual on page 20 in the "Helpful Hints" section. See #7.

Here is mine I just scraped the pot before I turned in on this evening, burning hardwood pellets from a local company feed is between 3 and 4 in room temp, blower about 2/3 throttle.

The ash in my burnpot mostly blows out and some sorts of clumps on the sides but doesn't cause any issues. The middle of the burnpot is relatively always clean. Maybe a light cover of ash. But can still see the holes in three burnpot. The ash on the side shelves in Shtrdave's stove looks like mine after I burn about 7 bags of mwp.

Thanks Dave, that looks just like mine. Now i know its not just me :)

Here's mine running in room mode at 75'. Burning a bag of timber heats (lowes - 4.38 a bag).

Looks fine to me too.
