I just purchased a home that has a cast iron cooking stove and I wanted to get more information and its worth. I have tried looking for information on the internet and even called a local wood stove dealer in the area but they weren't able to help.
The markings on the stove indicate that it was manufactured by Pratt & Wentworth and there is a marking on it “No.8” right in front of the smoke stack.
I had to remove the stove from my kitchen because of Home Insurance issues, I guess it was not installed according to code.
I was wondering if anybody would know where I can obtain more information on this cooking stove and how to get it appraised.
