What is the difference between Englander And Summers Heat Brand the stoves look the same?

Summers Heat is the badge for Englanders sold through Lowe's.
There's also a Timber Ridge variant.

Thank you i was browsing Lowe's website and got to wondering that.

I will never understand this... why bother private-labelling a product that people want to know has history? I might buy an Englander stove because I can search online and find reviews, but I wouldn't want to buy a Summers Heat stove. Unless you're having stoves made with different materials, which would dictate the different price-point... you're not developing the brand if only one store is able to carry them.

Obviously part of the reason is to trick consumers... can't cross-reference stoves at different stores, so you can't go in and price-match an item. If I've got a gift card for Lowes, and Canadian Tire has their stove on at a better price, Lowes doesn't have to price-match because the stoves are different brand names.

thank you.

I did not realize they were both technically englander stoves when I bought my NC 30. I normally shop at lowes but I wanted an 'Englander', so I went to Home Depot.

I just checked and lowes wants 350 bucks more for the 'Summers Heat' NC 30 ($1149). I paid $899 with free shipping - so it's their loss for doing this.

they are $889 at my local Lowe's i think.

Little bit of trivia. Summers was the middle name of Bob England the co-founder of ESW. I also believe it was him and Ron's mother's maiden name. Since Englander stoves used to be sold by stove dealers I am sure that the two other labels were used when they started selling through big box stores to placate the dealers.
