Just looked at the 10 day weather window in Southern NE and we are going to see temps we have not visited for two years. Low 20's to low teens during the evening hours next week. Guess I finally crack open the stash of the Somersets and the Barefoots! Time to put the "shoulder" pellets away....
Have been testing this years Stove Chow and Fireside Ultras. After a day's burn of the FSU, I'm going back to HD tomorrow for a ton of the SC. Wife and I felt a noticeable heat output difference between the two. On one of the colder days coming up, I am going to back and forth with the Somersets and SC to determine if there is a noticeable difference in perceived heat output. No contest here, though, for the ash-capades.

They're calling for highs in the low 20s late next week in west Michigan also. The Somersets are waiting to be pressed into service, although the Magic Sparks have been doing very well the past few days with highs in the high 20s.

Got my Turman's ready have been burning Power House.

Last winter we had just a few touches down to the low teens. The winter before, we had the big snow but we did not have many teen temps after the end of January, when the big snows stopped down here. Don't forget, we are the "Ocean State" and closer to the ocean (I'm about 40 miles north of the coast...hey, it's a stamp sized state) so it is uncommon for us to get many temp touches down to the low teens. My gut tells me we will see single digit touches as well. I can count on two hands, how many times we have gone below zero over the last 3-4 years. I have lived in southern WI for five winters and two in Chicago, so I know a little about winters....
