Corey, I see we have some below zero weather coming. Don't think we had any of that last year.

operator error. The size of the splits were small.

Right now stove is at 550 with 3 rather big splits of red oak.

Wow those big red oak splits are cooking draft must be real strong tonight may get to test the pipe damper.

Good Corey Im glad you figured it out, what kind of burns are you getting now?

Well today i have done 3 reloads and i now can load one time at bed time and have enough coals for an easy restart in the mornings.

I was shocked how well a box fan can work to move warm air. I can have as much as a 15 degree difference between the stove room and the opposite side of the house. Based on the advice of others, I tried a box fan on the floor blowing cool air into the stove room. I have a 4-room in a square arrangement downstairs and I could feel the air circulating the whole way around the house. The temperature in the cool room went up a full 3 degrees in a matter of minutes. I'm not compelled to do this much right now, but it's nice to know about if it ever gets much colder.

Glad to hear you're getting things figured out, Corey - Good luck as the weather gets cooler here.

Thank you.

I use a tower fan on low (higher speeds don't seem to help much and create a draftiness) doing the same thing and have had great results pushing the cooler air back into a warmer area to get temps more even.

Are you moving a thermometer around to decide if heat is moving around better or not?

Once you get far enough away from the stove, the blower keeps air moving and it's not nearly as warm as it was next to the stove and it can create a drafty feel, even in a room that is being warmed by that air movement.

The only thing i can think of is im creating a slower convection current.

I analyze a lot of poo in an average day, when it comes to the stove, if doing X makes me feel warmer, I don't over think it :p

That said, with less convection I suppose it could transfer heat to less desirable places slower.
