I have to empty my burnpot on my englander pellet stove every 10 hours max before it get to the top of the burnpot. Ive been hovering around the forum on similar postings and it seems to me i should be getting a few days and even then it should be filled up. I sent this question to englanders help email and was told i would have to empty it multiple times a day. Ive adjusted the LBA feature up to 6 and am running my heat setting at 3 and blower at 5. Should there be a gasket around my burnpot to seat it onto the cradle to make an air tight seal. My burnpot also rocks a little bit if i push on one side. I clean out my stove daily and actually do the biweekly cleaning every 3 days or so just to try to make it run better. Any and all help would be great.

IMO, you should NOT have to scrape the burn pot on any top feeder, single auger stove every 10 hours, much lest every day.

That said, if the burn pot is warped and rocking on the cradle, that could be part of the problem....burn air is escaping around the edges instead of going through the pot.

Is the pot actually warped from manufacture, or are the just the edges bent?

What is the LFF set at? Also, can you describe your exhaust set-up from the stove outlet all the way to the cap, with lengths and types of elbows, vertical and horiz runs, etc?

BTW, is this a new or used stove?

i cant tell if the burnpot is warped or not. as far as the exhaust set up i used the recomended kit from englander. its the duravent witg a 45 degree elbow for corner instalation wich i cleareed with englander to make sure it wouldnt restrict airflow. after the 45 there is a2 foot straight pipe section to go through the wall then a t connector with clenout then a 3 ft rise with a rain cap. its the exact specs that were given with the stove. i also have the direct air set up to the outside wall.i also use maine premium wood pellets that have got good reviews.

Have you had the problem since you got the stove or has it just started?

When the burn pot sits in the cradle, does it teeter at all when you apply finger pressure to any of the corners of the burn pot.

When was the last time the stove had a COMPLETE cleaning?

How many ton/s have you burned since new or last complete cleaning?

its been like thia since i installed it in november. i contacted englander about the short burn time and they siad i would have to empty it multiple times a day so idropped it then i read on the forums here they are supposed to go for a while. i have burned 1.5 tons ao far this year and have torn it apart twice to fully clean it. it does teeeter when itouch the sides of the burn pot not to bad but it does teeter.

You've cleaned the entire exhaust system from stove to cap, removed & cleaned the combustion motor and replaced w/ a new gasket, and removed and cleaned behind the ash traps? Did you also remove the firebrick and bang on the back steel wall with a mallet to dislodge stuck ash clumps?

Out of curiosity, can you post a pic of the pellets you are burning? Have you been burning the same pellets since you bought the stove?

I have taken apart the entire front section the ash traps i took the cradle off and emptied out ash trapped in there, i ook off the side panels and cleaned the blower fans and checked all of the wires and connections. I also have taken the firebrick off and removed clumps behind it. I have not taken apart the combustion motor and changed the gasket nor have i taken the piping off the back of stove because i siliconed it shut. I can certainly do it if that is a necissary step but as it has been burning this way since i have installed the entire set up i dont think its the exhaust system. I will work on uploading a picture of the pellets i burn they are a one hundred percent hardwood ~.75% ash, <6% moisture, <.25 fines. I did try 4 different kinds of pellets before i settled on these they seemed to burn the best out of what i tried. I think this is a cradle issue as no ash is building up next to the burnpot on the cradle ive read on a similar thread this is because air is coming up from the side and blowing it off.

Is the burnpot and cradle a metal to metal seal or is there supposed to be a gasket under the lip of the firepot to seal it against the cradle.

Metal to metal but the metal can't have any lumps, bumps, or rock in its receptacle such that air can get by on the outside.

here is the pellet

my lff is set to 1 and i have no problems with start up, I am set to a thermostat with the stove using on/off not hi/low because when it was set to high low it would fill up much quicker.

You can make or install a gasket for the pot.

How many bags have you burned? If its new in November, I can't imagine it being to many bags?

Are you pretty handy? Can you remove the pot and take a pic of the cradle?

Here is my CPM with a 5/8" Flat Meeco's Red Devil Gasket. Seated with High temp silicone.

I think im pretty handy. the only thing im worried about if i create a seal is rising the burnpot up to high for the autoignighter not to be ligned up with the hole i will post a pic of the cradle tomorrow i just cleaned the burnpot and reignited it.

Well that would possibly be an issue with installing a gasket...if your burnpot is out of whack, it should still be under warranty since you just bought the stove correct?

I would think so they have a 5 year manufactures warrenty so i guess i will start contacting them directly again, im just worried about the first time i brought this up they told me it was normal to clean it out this much. Are you looking for a picture of the pellet bag.

I just wanted to make sure you werent burning old stock of maine woods pellets or something....

No way in hell...imo....is it even remotely normal to have to clean an EP burnpot after 10 hours unless you are burning the crappiest of pellets...

By the time the pot "Seats" itself in the gasket, its about a 1/16" or 1/8" max above where it is now. And i had no ill effects with my CPM and ignitor alignment (the CPM has an Air pump connected to the ignitor to help light ALL fuels).

Not "round" or regular gasket.

It must be a flat/tape type gasket.

Have you preformed the dollar bill test on the door gasket?

A bypass at the pot and a bad seal at the door will create a big enough loss from the pot, to make a Big difference in burn and build up.
