I have three flues that I will be relining with 6" SS insulated liner.

Any suggestions for online sources for materials?

Drop a line to theheatelement @ gmail. He's a MagnaFlex rep. Took good care of me with a very nice price on an InsulFlex kit like this one. If you are thinking about insulating the liner, having it pre-made that way is the bee's knees, IMO.:)

There was a bit of debate about the zero-clearance status of this insulated liner. . .a non-issue in my 12 x 12" masonry chimney.

I ordered this fall from chimney liner depot. Got an insert kit. They will match any price you may find and they know their stuff and as shown on posts on this forum if your not happy they make it right.

I also bought mine from chimney liner depot and was happy with their phone conversation in helping decide on things

I too got the Magnaflex Insulflex from the "heat element". Couldn't be happier. The price was right and it was easy for me to install. No pipe insulating needed. It's already made into it. You can save your insulating efforts for above the blockoff plate which he will already have made for you after you tell him the measurements.

Thank you for the links and sources.
The Magnaflex looks interesting. Cost times three flues would hurt.

Any suggestions for an inexpensive insulation alternative. I was thinking someone must make an inexpensive insulation that could be poured/packed from top around liner.

Someone on here, on some thread, mentioned that they used Roxul insulation in the bat form. I think they used R19 or R30. They Split the Batts and then I think used some fireproof/heat resistant stuff, I guess like they use on the normal insulation, then just wrapped the pipe with it lengthwise. I think they said for like a 20ft pipe they used like half a pack?? The packs I think are $50 so even using a whole pack its way cheaper than the blanket you buy for them.

I would give up wood burning before I tried to wrap a pipe in Roxul, that would take one huge chimney to stuff that down without ripping it.

Some have gotten deals on Vermiculite pour insulation, but that would depend on the size of your chimneys if that would be cost effective.

maybe he was running it in a brick or block chimney, not a clay flue tile?

I was referred to from Hearth to go through Rockford Chimney Supply. They were great; helped me choose the most economical setup for my chimney. Quality product and DIY support. This is the chimney liner I purchased.

I used Rockford and was very happy with the pricing and support
