It Sure Is Nice To Have A Clean Stove

Well, I burned down the coals as much as I could 'til the house temp got to 61 and then emptied out all the ash and small coals. Cleaned the glass as well. It really is nice to have the entire firebox again.

On a side note, the Ashtrap that I used to scoop out the ashes broke, luckily, inside the stove (no harm done). I ordered a Hearth Helpers Ash Scoop. http://hearthhelpers.com/product-1/

I did the same, I burned some coals down and dug out some ash, I own a BK so I didn't touch the glass. The temp dropped to 76 or so before I reloaded. We're sitting about 15 right now which seems like a heat wave after the week we had.

I'm not feeling that ash scooping thing. A bucket with a lid an a shovel seems to work fine. I don't think I could even use that in my stove due to the stoves depth.
