Harman XXV setting experimenting

Okay, so I havn't done this since I first got my stove last year. I'm working on finding the right setting for my feed rate. I just poured in a bag of Barefoot. Stove was cleaned today. I have the stove settings as followed. Fan on high set to stove temp and dial set to full go 7 I think. I started out at setting the feed rate at 6. How long do I wait to set the rate back a half turn? Been going now for about 15 minutes nothing is building up.

Feedrate at 6? I'd start at 3 & start working from there. Turn the stove temp knob back to "normal" ... somewhere around 68...

Typically you want to get the pellets to maintain about 1" from the burn pot edge. For my current pellets a feed rate of 4.

It could be the picture but that flame looks a little on the lazy side to me. Could you describe your cleaning in more detail?

Pictures can be deceiving sometimes so I didn't want to jump the gun... But that's three counts on a lazy flame including Defiant's vote.

The cleaning I did today was a simple scraped out the burn pot dumped the ash pan a quick vacuum. 5 days a go i cleaned out the venting outside the house. It's a OAK set up vented out the wall. I'll take more photos when I get back home. The flame is usually very active. I normally have it set on Room temp but today switched over to stove temp. Is it east to post video on this forum? I've never tried it. I could do that as well so you can get a better look at the flame. Also that picture taken was with the door open. Could be the reason why the flame looked lazy.

My understanding was that your feed rate needs to be not low enough to cause the ash to smolder the fire and not high enough to push unburnt pellets into the ash pan. So it is entirely possible that a whole range works for you. The 3 years that I had my harman the most I bumped the feed rate was to 5 to help heat the house on a particularly cold day, otherwise it was on 4.

keep my feed rate right around four all the time. Keeps the pellets about an inch from the edge.

from day 1 my feedrate has been 4 and never had to move it it runs great and keeps the Home super warm ! i have nothing to play with it does everything just fine !
