Cut a mixed load of Ash, Hickory, and Walnut yesterday. Beautiful day to be in the woods. Here is the crew and the results. That is my son, grandson, and brother.

Always good to hear about families sticking together for each other. Strong fiber to pass on. Hope that wood keeps you warm!

Hmmm? With a capable looking crew like that I would expect results twice that size. ;)

Nice pictures. ==c
You are right Lumber Jack. Actually, about 3 times that. I just forgot to take pictures.....Always do that.;)

It puts a smile on my face when I read these posts from you. It's wasn't long ago when there were doubts you'd ever be able to enjoy cutting, splitting and stacking again. Truly awesome! :)

Very well stated rdust.

Steve, where is the snow?! Looks odd.

Yes it is rdust! When I got done yesterday, and we still had to go to a visitation, and take my visiting cousin for supper, and I was hurting a little, my wife said why do you push yourself? Well, it was hard to answer her but I guess because, as you said, I might not have ever been able to do it again, but I can.

Its all gone Dennis. There is a little on the ground, hard to see, but we haven't had enough to even plow yet this winter, and now we are getting freezing rain.

are you guys for hire?
Nope, we do it for the pure joy of being outside, and the warmth it provides the soul and our homes. But then you already knew that Zap, 'cause I am pretty sure you do it for the same reasons. Nice try though;)

Nice haul and nice family. It all leaves me with a nice feeling. My wife and I live alone from the family stand point. Lots of friends but family is many hundreds of miles away.

86 F150, 4x4, My brother's. You can't see mine, but it is a 88 F250. My son and I bought it cause we both have fake trucks when it comes to hauling wood;)

Yes siree chief.....my new build and the old one that just hauled so much wood she couldn't go no more. I took the rear end out to use in the black one and the frame folded like a pretzel. I knew it was bad as I had welded it once but I think the only thing that was supporting it was the leaf springs.

Nice family Steve. We did the same down here. My 3 year old grandson is still a little scared of the saw noise.
Loves to help split and stack though.:)

You keep taking him, he will get over that. My grandson that was with us Saturday is 9 and been going with us since he was probably about 4. Saturday, he wanted to run the saw.:) So we got out my little MS 192 I use for limbing and let him try it out. Of course I had my hands on the handles with his beside mine and let him run the trigger. Showed him how kick back works and all, He absolutely loved it;)

Nice pics, chief! One of the main reasons i got into the game was to teach the kids the value of hard work.

Yea thanks. He has a little toy stihl saw that he pretends to cut branches with. The real thing still has him cringe a little. My son was the same way
and now he's real good with the whole wood heat operation.:)
