anybody try or using them and how do you compare them to other pellets as far as heat and ash?

Good heat but LOADS of ash for me when I burned them earlier in the season....actually mine were Great Americans but it's the same pellet....afaik......

agree with the above, good heat, but I am getting clinkers from them. They also smelled like glued up plywood!

same here decent heat but lots of ash, do not know about this season but last year lots of problems with long pellets.
i found a local stove shop with turmans actually better for me burn great low ash and the same price as powerhouse

Holy cow...they are charging the same price for GAP's as the Turman? If you don't mind, what are they charging?

Those were pretty much the first bags I burned and they seemed to have a decent heat output but LOADS of ash.

Lots of ash. I don't think they are very hot either. I hate to say but I liked NEWPS better then the Powerhouse for cheap pellets. ( 2 tons burned and 2 to go)

Same here lots of ash and clinkers....way more than I was getting from the infernos I burned last season and part of this season as well.....who'd a thunk?

Yes, it kind of sucks because the GAP plant is very close to me but I can get a very hot pellet with next to no ash for $209 a ton where the GAP's were $225 last time I checked.

slvrblkk

what pellet is the very hot one w/ low ash for 209 and where are you getting them ?

I actually just started burning the ton I bought earlier this year. Pellets are all very small and consistant with my ton....like others said, good heat but a lot of ash. Think I paid 209 at Ace if I remember correctly.

@mike....... Presto Logs at the Lowes in Bethlehem...they burn excellent in my stove...they have about 5 tons left the rest is all Cheat River

My wife is going to kill me but I really gotta score a half ton of the PTL's....I hardly have any room left....
..always easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

I heard if you send em shopping or something to distract them. They usually never notice! ;)

I have never done it, Nope not me. I'll even deny it if you say I told ya! :p

Not trying to put words in Jack Bean 53 's mouth :) but I remember an early post in a Truman thread , we turned him on to the Cozy Barn where he scored the Turman's . So I'm thinking he was paying around $4.80 to $5.00 for the Powerhouse.

Ouch! If that's the case, that's crazy.....

Powerhouse are doing ok in my Mt. Vernon, they are very ashy though. I am burning Turmans in my Accentra. I am planning on probably picking up 4 tons of Turman in April for next year.

That' kind of the going rate up here at the small mom & pop hardware stores.

Down the road from me is Miller Supply/Ace Hardware and they were getting $225 for Powerhouse...not sure what they are now. Is Cozy Barn still $225 for the GAP's? If they were way less ashy I would just buy those to keep it local but at this point I feel they need to revamp their "recipe" a bit.

I haven't burned any this year sitting on 15+ bags from last year ,but they are buried under 40 bags of Set's / GT's mix. They were very good last year , as we all know batches very with the quality of the raw material. I'll grab a few bags to check out let you know what I think.

Yes, I burned some the year before and they definitely seemed better in my old stove. Sounds good, let me know.
