I did by a few packs earlier this year.....will probably grab a few more....never burned them before, but grabbed them just in case....how many should I put in my 1.8 cu. ft. Insert to start off with ???
I bought some of what I believe are the eco-bricks last week from TSC on-sale for 2.99/ea. They were 24# packages with 3 bricks per pack. Not sure if they're the exact same thing, but they were made in KY. They burn great!
BeerBelly, I have been mostly just adding one brick with some wood in there. If I end up tossing a not-so-seasoned log in there, evening things out with these bricks has really helped for me. I did throw two in N-S side by side with some small stuff on top and they did pretty well that way also.

Thanks.....I bought them for the cold nights where I'd like to get longer burn times, but not sure how many to throw in at once.

But if your going to stuff the stove make sure you pack them close together. Depending on your stove and how much air flows in, left too far apart they will burn very hot, sometimes too hot (In my limited experience.).

Threw just one in a while back to see what it would do.....left with a smoldering block of crap........I was told to try two at one time.....guess what ???....now two smoldering blocks of crap......very disappointed, bought these to help when I run short on wood, now I realize I need wood to supplement my blocks....and I've got 6 left !

I'm just gonna toss 'em in the firepit in the spring....just gotta make sure the fire is good and hot
