it seems to have less build up take me away guys and gals burnpot stays cleaner i need another beer ?

I would think it would just burn off rather quickly. I clean mine with a wire brush cup on a drill till its smooth and that seems to help. Maybe I'll try a little cooking spray. It will at least smell good while it's burning off.

Your beer goggles are on...have another beer.:p

I rubbed in graphite powder on a Santa Fe burn pot and bottom and worked well to keep the bottom from sticking. I would dust the bottom after every cleaning. Baby powder for pellet stoves:)

Well grilling pam can't hurt and beer can't hurt either, so your good to go!!

Doggy

Hickory or Mesquite?

Hmm what does the hearth forum and its members have in common. A derailed thread going to a beer discussion lmao!;)

Spraying Pam on your burn pot will not hurt, but it will not help you either. Your efforts to prevent sticking are flawed because by the time the fire temps get hot enough to create the "fusions" that result in that hard build up, your Pam has been burned off quicker than Charlie Sheen. Like I said, it will not hurt, but spraying Pam on your burn pot to prevent sticking is about as helpful as bringing an accordian with you when you go duck hunting.

Getting back to the serious side of this thread, a good replacement for the Pam would probably be a good coat of spray graphite or the dry moly spray. To do it right, the burn pot either needs to be brand new, or at least sand blasted down to bare metal.

I've had VERY good luck with the spray graphite on my combustion motor fan blades & motor case.....the ash comes right off. When I run out of that, I'll give the dry moly spray a whirl.

OK, NOW I'll have another Stella. hic
