I just thought of the game changer---

Real time control based on a SoaP or REST call to a weather service feed. It will KNOW based on your zip code the hour by hour forecast and can adjust with 'AI' ahead of time to ramp up before it gets super cold and can't keep up.
30 now, 10 in a few hours, run a few degrees above swing . :)

  • built in invertor/pure sine power supply/ups with 12v marine dc and 120 ac hook ups. Working on this - 2014
  • loss of power auto-shut off feature to reduce smoke in house problems, if configured - Done
  • piping and hook-ups using vband style clamps. These can hold 45 psi on turbos without leaking, without silicone, at egt's of over 1200 degrees C. Surely they can hold <1psi of 500F exhaust gas. Done Eurostar & Osburn 5000
  • EGT and o2 sensor wideband probes and 'autotune'. Probes could constantly monitor burn and produce the most efficient heat based off actual readings. using cheap bosch-style 5-wire o2's. - Few years yet... Of the shelves sensors still too exensive.
  • built in wifi control board to hook up to home wireless network. monitor/control stove form anywhere with internet. Limited usefulness is stove truly smart.
  • "windshield wipers" for the glass. quick clean for easy viewing and less cleaning - Not required if have great Airwash
  • large ash and feed pans - Done
  • home system connections:
    • vband air ducting to tap into existing venting to move hot air around the house instead of where the stove is. options for 0/20/50/80/100 options of front of stove or vent output. Some stoves have somewhat of that feature.
  • Standard sizing of bolts and screws. Nothing is more annoying than wondering it this one is the 13/16, the 5/32, or the 1/2", the phillips or flat head... make 90% use cases servicable with 1 tool- a screw driver, 95% with 2 tools, a screw driver and 1 socket/wrench. How about no tools with clip on components Eurostar & Osburn 5000?
If a company reads this and wants to invent any of these ideas, you have my MIT-style license to do so :)

Thanks the check is on its way...

Hello

My stove would have the following:

1.The Breckwell burn pot that is enclosed and connected to the air intake tube.

2. A bottom auger with vertical rotary disks like the new Avalon AGP that cuts long wood pellets

3. A heavy duty metal vacuum switch like the old whitfield stoves that can take the full 120v AC

4. The Harman Accordian Heat exhangers that sock out a great amount of heat.

5. HPS High Performance Silicon thick wall vacuum line that does not develop cracks quickly.

6. A smart digital control panel that does not use snap disks.

7. A control panel that works T-Stat using either mode Auto-Hi/Lo or Auto-On/Off
Even better some computer smarts that would calculate the difference between the T-Stat SET temp and the room temp and then select the appropriate Heat level to ramp the room up to that temp in a reasonable amount of time using the fewest wood pellets. Like the new LG washing machines that shake the clothes back and forth to determine the load and then calculate the least amount of water and detergent to use. LOL

8.0 A control panel like the HearthStone Heretige that scrolls the LCD word messages.

9.0 A control panel with two way communication like the Quadrafire Mount Vernon AE.

10. A USB hookup like the Bixby corn stove so you can change or adjust ALL the settings!

11. A universal App for my iPhone 5 that would also do feature 10 above!

12. A very well balanced exhaust blower with a heavy flywheel like the hearthstone heritage that will go with very little energy.

13. A pellet stove that you can connect ductwork like the Drolet or Ecotek Laura & Veronica

14. A nice deep ashpan like the Hudson River Kinderhook

15 A 5 bag hopper like the big Pelpro Home Heater 300 wood pellet stove Model HHPP32BD

16. A stove that goes from 0 to 70k BTUs like the Harman P68

17. A heavy duty 6 RPM auger motor like the Harman P68

18. A corkscrew type Auger like the Quadrafire pellet stoves.

19. A Pot Stirer like the Englander 10-CPM

20. Cast iron Heringbone pattern fire brick backing like the Enviro Meridian

Anything Else?

Not to beat our own drum but the Enerzone Euromax fits the majority of the bill on the above items...

Lol, they would never be close for most folks.

Ok heres a few more:
  • Digital magnahelic sensor feeds right into the board to adjust combustion/exhaust air pressure automatically. Eventually, if it senses too much back pressure triggers a "clean me dummy" message appears.
  • Predictive servicing. All components have a life span... When a ignitor reaches its life span it can warn the user with message, "ignitor part # 12345 will soon be EOL".
  • Non users service messages such as " Call SWilliamson at 888-xxx-xxxx tell him to bring a convection blower part #123456.
  • As few moving parts as possible.

Don't be so sure about that, see all kinds of Harman folk on here with "issues" why is that?

Get a Whit they don't quit.

like most pellet stove issues.................wait for it.......wait for it.............wait for it.........................

operator induced

Better and easier access the the stove's innards and other mechanical parts and such. Side, front, top and back panels that come on and off easy.

Some Italian models already have this feature :)
A pint or so won't do anything but maybe make the room smell good if you add something. The Elena I just got has a very small pan.

I just knew some had a Humidifier. Didn't know "How" they were integrated or How much moisture they emitted.

Did I just read over 40 posts and no beer bottle opener!

I would like to test one in my shed? :)

HOW ABOUT A LOW-PELLET ALARM THAT GOES OFF WHEN THE HOPPER IS DOWN TO THE LAST 10%. WHY NO STOVE HAS THIS YET IS BEYOND ME.

Actually the Mt Vernon AE with the Data Controller (Looks like a T-Stat) has the LCD display "Low Pellets" using the hopper's optical sensor. The problem is when the sensor get's dirty or goes bad. So we need a control panel that does a check of all sensors and safety switches and tells you if they are bad. LOL

I would like a live in nanny to come with the stove, she can cook and clean while the Harman is running. wont hav to do much being its a Harman, will give her alot of time to do chores

-how about self clean feature just like a kitchen stove if not already suggested;)
-dummy operator proof for some....just saying:cool:
-eliminate small hoppers and have extra BIG ones only so we do not have to buy a hopper extensions:mad:
-all stoves should come with internal water heaters:)

First, Amen!! on the "QUIET operation" point...:) Our house is on the side of a mountain and one of the real benefits is the peace.

A few to add:
An exhaust cleanout somewhere on the front of the unit so you don't have to wrestle the stove out and disassemble the pipe
Single-lever disassembly of firebox liner with simple access for cleaning
QUALITY blower, combustion, and auger motors that have long MTBF ratings, not 2-year intervals
High-temperature rated wiring to the 'hot' parts of the stove
Honest ratings for output so that the stove that's rated "for 2500 square feet" can actually heat 2500 square feet from 40° to 70° on a 25° degree day
