I used an inflateable tire dolly I bought years ago. I came through a back slider from a deck to avoid too many steps. Make sure you have plenty of help going up the steps and you should be fine. You may want to consider making the power outlet switched in case you need to shut off the stove in an emergency. Nice looking install so far....

I'll second that. I have a switch on my power outlet for the stove and it's nice to be able to switch it off during thunderstorms, etc. I also switch it off for the summer months.

The switched outlet thing was something I did not think of. When I removed the propane fireplace it was wired with an outlwt box underneath which I assume was for an electric blower option. This outlet was wired in series with my other living room outlets. To make things easier (since I am not a licensed electrician) was to keep the existing wiring in place. I do have a good surge protector for it and I guess I will have to use the circuit breaker I have to shut it down in an emergency. I plan on unplugging it during the summer months. By the way Flyn, I have a Skytech 5301p on order. How is yours working out for you?

Moved the M55 into the house today. I noticed the control panel looks crooked. Can any M55 owners confirm this through my pixture? 2013-02-16 10.06.37.jpg

Definitely crooked control panel, but it shouldn't hurt anything and it's covered anyways. My 5301P has been working great. I did have a problem last year when it would lose the connection between the receiver and the wall unit and we would hear it beeping. I moved it up on top of a speaker box so that it had a line of sight shot to the wall unit and have not had any problems since. The only gripe I have is that the clock is not very accurate. I set mine around September and it's about 10mins fast right now.

Definetly looks a little skewed, I would check with your dealer to see if he can fix it...Can't wait to see that stove in your gorgeous fireplace

Thanks guys. If the panel works okay then I'll let the dealer know now and have it repaired this spring. Unless it is a five minute fix. Otherwise, I do not want any interuptions to the rest of my heating season.

Ahhh...the smell of burning paint. Nothing like breaking her in on a cold, rainy day in New England. I'm in the process of adjusting the damper and settings. Bought some Stove Chow to run through it for now. Thanks again guys for all your info/advice on this forum.2013-02-19 16.50.20.jpg 2013-02-19 16.50.43.jpg

The stove looks great in that nice setup of yours! I would think the control panel would be a quick fix. Not sure how it is on the insert, but on my FS it's just a matter of unbolting the top cast piece and the control panel is movable.

I'll look into that as soon as my wife removes herself from the front of the stove. She just seriously asked me if we could run the thing on 5 until June.

you may want to wait until the next cleaning......she will let you clean it won't she?

Put the thing on a t-stat, otherwise you are going to be burning some serious tonnage running on 5 until June.

The first overnight burn kept the downstairs a toasty 77 degrees according to the house thermostat. The Skytech is reading 76 degrees. The glass is dirty already so I might need to open the damper a little more or maybe its just the Stove Chow.

I have found on this stove the glass gets dirty real quick on the right side of the stove. As long as it is not black which is showing a bad burn, then you are ok. Here is a picture of my glass after 8 days of running, you should see what I am talking about on the right side of the glass.

Mine was black. Thought I had a good burn going. I'll open the damper some more.
Have you had a chance to check the stove with a mag gauge, This will get your air setup properly. In the manual I forget what the reading should be off the top of my head, but it states that the stove should be running on high for a half hour to get it nice and hot, and then check it with the mag gauge. that is what my dealer did for me when he came up to do the inspection after I did the install.
