I just checked his website and it says cash price $224/ton for what he calls MWP hardwood, which is the blend. I still say the $259 is the softies price.
SubSailor I do not want to get in a Pi$$ing match with anyone I said " I think " if you factor in the delivery charge "Ithink" Im pretty much spot on ! And if I recall he does not have the softies at this time and has not for quite some time . when I purchased from him they were 245 delivered ! I also tried to get to his website and it seems to be gone !

By the time I had room SIB had no Okies, La Crete or MWP softies. I opted for 3 tons of regular MWP. I decided to burn my dwindling stash of Okies only on the coldest days, and immediately switch back to the MWPs to keep my OKIEs in reserve. I watched the weather forecast closely, and would decided ahead of time that for example Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I would burn MWP, then switch on Thursday and Friday to Okie and so on. I've got 8 bags of OKIES left. Could have used more, but I milked the heck out of them.

Unless things change and pellet prices drop my plan is to buy at least 2 tons of a (very) good pellet to burn on very cold days, and combine that with another 2 tons of something like MWP. The MWPs burn ok in my Castile with extra cleaning, but In my personal opinion just can't compete with a pellet like OKIE on those cold days.

P.S. Dollabill I just checked and I can reach the SIB web site ok

If you Google search, his site isn't listed in the results. If you know the URL and enter it directly, his site will open.

FYI, I'm not looking to get it a pissng match with anyone. But if what you say is correct, he's going to price himself out of business.

I highly doubt that Steve is going from NO DELIVERY CHARGE to $25 per ton, which it would need to be to get to your "$259" .

I talked to someone @ SIB this afternoon MWP softies are 225 with a flat 15 dollar drop fee to my location end of year price for Softies according to whomever i spoke to was 259 then asked what the April price would be dont know yet and if they got LaCretes it wouldnt be to next fall Id bet higher pricing driven by Higher fuel prices

Sub the drop fee as I understand it would be a flat rate which is understandable but at some point Ill be looking for a better product at around the same price IE our Military Discount @ Lowes granted Id have to pick them up but still I feel more bang for the buck !

Sinnian, he is doing a per delivery charge I was told when I called last week. I didn't ask how many tons he can do at once but last year it was 6.

That's the way I see it too. I picked up 6 bags of Fireside Ultra at HD in Augusta to try. My thinking was I'd buy a ton now if they burned OK. I was surprised to see they only have about 8 tons in inventory. Don't know if they going to be getting any more.

So are the softies 225 or do they not know? I'm confused.

I think that's the blend price. His website says $229. I think I'm getting confused too!

I thought I saw $224 for the blend. Prolly doesn't have any softies unless its a pre-order. MWP isn't making the softies until spring right?
Yes the website lists $224 for blend. They do a softies run usually in the spring.

The burning question for me is will they be selling the blend at HD and TSC again next year.

I would assume that is a yes. I seen the manager of our TSC and he says he has more MWP due in this spring. We don't usually see them this far down at HD.

I can keep my fingers crossed. 10% off is nice.
