Ok Now I need a surge protector? If I stay on this site much longer , I will not have any Beer money left..LOL..... Thank for the tip.
You get the surge protector I'll get the beer! You will be happy with the decision in the long term! Shock Top ok?

hey group, thanks very much for the 'welcomes' After reading your replies, I decided to go buy the pellet stove this week. I have the $300 coupon, and plan to use the tax credit. Believe it or not, it's going to be hard to get rid of this woodstove. I have had it so long I feel like it is part of the family! I know I will have a hundred more questions for you as I progress toward this transition. I will post a pic of my current set up to see what you think. Thanks

Keep the wood eater for back up... Lots of us here, are dual fuel burners!! I burn pellets and cord wood. Cord wood in a power failure is nice, also, it will help keep your consumption down on pellets. Last year I only burned a ill over 2 ton. Without wood, I was burning 4-4.5 ton.

Welcome, Harman makes a solid unit, and as noted, Eric at Kinsman is a stand up guy with great pricing.

HOLY RED WOODSTOVE, BATMAN! That is a first for me, I've never seen a red woodstove (and red flu pipe to boot) before.

Well, actually, I've had the Alaskan and the stovepipe in the workshop GLOWING RED before I joined this site, but that was many, many moons ago....

Welcome to the forums, Tony. Now, where did you say you were located? I'll come up and get rid of that nasty firewood stack for you....you won't need it anymore now that you've jumped over to the 'dark side'....:p::P

Blower vac to properly clean everything. LBT is great for the harder to clean stoves. Maybe a ash vac or good shop vac with a good filter. The harman may not need that many cleanings but its nice to have the right tools to do the job right.

Dammit I'm going to have to go and buy a couple tons of pellets. I've already sank enough money in my two modern woodstoves, ain'tin the market to get a pellet stove (yet). But I wanna be a member of the Pellet Pigs Club, too.......SOOOOOUUUUUUIIIIEEEEEEE!!

Welcome and youve picked a great stove and as others have said heating with pellets sure beats cord wood even here in Maine where there is plenty of fire wood to be had cheap, pellets are king !!

No offense meant, Tony.......I'll quit with the red stove comments....
I don't wanna end up with a BLACK EYE!!;lol

Buy a good surge protecter. I would also read through this website and see if you can determine what type of dealers are in your area. Patronize the ones that people brag about as it will be money well spent.

Hi Tony,
Spend the money on the surge protector otherwise there might not be money for beer if you have to buy a new board:p and put in an OAK.

About the red - How many times do you guys need to be reminded? Happy wife, happy life! My husband says he always has the last word - "Yes Dear"

Welcome and keep us posted on the install

Tony, Tony, Tony. You said you're in NE Pa. Coal country!!!! There are some very good, efficient coal burning stokers for prices the same as the pellet stoves you are looking at. Coal will give you more heat for the same amount of money. Use this comparison app to see how much better off you would be since you have an available supply of coal. http://www.buildinggreen.com/calc/fuel_cost.cfm

Play with the numbers and you'll see that you can't lose. If you're a tree-hugger then forget it, otherwise look seriously at coal. If I could get it down here in Georgia, I would switch in a second. When I lived in Reading, Pa, that's what I used.
