Another round for the New England States?

Winter Storm Warning

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAY ME
350 AM EST TUE FEB 26 2013

...ANOTHER WINTER STORM TO BRING SNOW TO NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND
WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY...

.THE MAJOR WINTER STORM WHICH HAS AFFECTED THE PLAINS INTO THE MID
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY IS FORECAST TO LIFT NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE
GREAT LAKES TODAY. A SECOND AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL BEGIN TO
DEVELOP ALONG THE MID ATLANTIC COAST TONIGHT. THIS SECOND LOW
PRESSURE WILL SLOWLY MAKE ITS WAY TO THE VICINITY OF SOUTHERN NEW
ENGLAND BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. A LARGE SWATH OF HEAVY SNOW WILL
LIFT NORTH AHEAD OF THE LOW...REACHING NEW HAMPSHIRE WEDNESDAY
MORNING...AND WESTERN MAINE BY THE AFTERNOON. WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
AND OVERNIGHT SNOW COULD FALL HEAVY AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS
JUST SOUTHEAST OF THE MOUNTAINS WHERE SIGNIFICANT UPSLOPING WILL
ENHANCE PRECIPITATION RATES. TO THE NORTH OF THE MOUNTAINS
DOWNSLOPING WILL LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF SNOW THAT FALLS...BUT THE
POSSIBILITY FOR UP TO 6 INCHES IS THERE. CLOSER TO THE
COAST...STRONG ONSHORE FLOW WILL BRING MARINE AIR INLAND. AS A
RESULT SNOW WILL MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO RAIN FOR COASTAL AREAS.
HOWEVER...NORTH OF PORTLAND COLD AIR MAY HANG ON LONG ENOUGH TO
PRODUCE UP TO 6 INCHES OF HEAVY...WET SNOW. THIS STATEMENT
REPRESENTS HIGH CONFIDENCE IN HEAVY SNOW FOR INTERIOR
LOCATIONS. THERE REMAINS TOO MUCH UNCERTAINTY AT THIS TIME FOR
ADDITIONAL HEADLINES FOR THE COAST AND AREAS NORTH OF THE
MOUNTAINS...BUT FORECAST TRENDS INDICATE THAT 6 OR MORE INCHES OF
SNOW IS POSSIBLE.

If my bike has to stay in then yours does too.....

If my bike has to stay in then yours does too.....

Oh, OK. The Ultra has been garaged since mid-December. Last time I rode it, we placed wreaths on the gravesites at Saratoga National Cemetery for the Wreaths Across America effort with the Patriot Guard Riders.
I look at it every now & then...:(

We are getting rain and wind here.

That was nice of you to do the wreaths, we all must remember....I was going to get my bike out couple weeks ago and it wouldn't start.......the temp was in low 40's and sun shining, wanted to get the cobwebs out of my brain.

If we get enough rain with some snow then the brook will be a mess, the ice is breaking off the sides, a jam waiting to happen.

Have you had much lake effect this year?
We haven't had too much snow this year, so far.

Thanks...We do what we can to honor those who served... I thought about getting it out for a quick spin in Mid-January when it got to about 45::F, but I was working on building a shower stall & if I let that slide TOO much longer, Susan would've killed me. Up til that point, I'd ridden it EVERY month since I bought it in June of 11...Oh well...I DID get to start it once, just to make sure it would STILL go "potato-potato." I had it on the tender, but one of my daughter's friends played with a light switch & killed the power to that particular outlet... No problem, tho, she fired right up... We'll get some miles on 'er this summer with a run up past your way to the Gaspe Peninsula & the Cabot Trail, in June, & then (finally!) gonna head for Sturgis in August...

Rain here, lot's of it. Got the main stacks that I can get to covered.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get to the others this weekend.

I don't envy any one getting hit with major snow.

Nother non-event...Maybe an inch last nite & it's above freezin now, so it's just a gloppy mess. Spozeta rain all day. That oughta clear the copious amounts of salt DOT has put down (again!)...

All rain at the moment up here, it should create some ice jams in this area. It looks like we'll be in this pattern through the first two weeks of March.

Current forecast for here is 8 to 14" and locally higher possible.

The main thing is it is likely to be heavy wet stuff and there may be power outages so to simplify things for the generator, I have a bathtub full of water to flush with and 8 gallons of water in the fermenter.

Other stock is more than adequate for a couple of weeks of being snowed in :) .

We are getting clobbered with heavy wet snow. Driving is getting tough if you don't have a SUV.
We had rain all day then it changed to snow at 4:00 pm, I think the most we will get is 3 inches of snow.

Ok, it is here. Wind is blowing and the snow is very wet. Can't imagine trying to snowblow that slush mess.
Darn town plow comes down the hill on the left and plows to the right, then repeats it. I am last on this road so I get huge piles of snow at the entrance to my driveway. I am hoping we don't loose power. Wife is not very accepting of her loss of TV etc.

The forecast here late Monday & early Tuesday morning called for "1 to 3 inches possible in metro area by afternoon.Heavier amounts far to the SE & into NE Missouri, also SW of region into KC Missouri & Nebraska was to see 8-10 inches or more...."

Started snowing around 7AM,by 930 we had 5 inches & it stopped soon afterwards.Cleaned off the whole driveway, sidewalk out front next to street, front deck & all the steps + the rest of driveway in backyard. Then about 130 started snowing again, quite heavy at times.Snowed all afternoon, overnight until about 10 this morning. Some had settled but final total was just over 11 inches here.

Yesterday morning I seen that front move on the radar 100 miles north & aim right at us.That makes 18 inches since last Thursday/Friday.Some of that melted over the weekend with temps in lo 40's.Easily there's still 13-14 on the ground right now....Already hit our season average of 32 inches now, with a month or so to go.I'd rather shovel it than get rain now though since ground is still frozen a ways down. All is welcome to help with the drought from last year.

It looks like we have another chance for a Nor'easter for the middle of the first week of March.

Two inches of slush, 40 f. Too wet for the snowblower and too heavy to shovel. If it is left to freeze, it will be hell getting rid of the ice. Ugh!

Looks like we got 5" and it is wet, but I see there is stuff falling a few hours away that may make it this way.
