Glass starting to etch

I have noticed the top center of my glass is starting to etch and get cloudy and won't come clean. Gaskets are new, anyone else experience this.

Just a paper towel with water worked fine for the pat 2 years. See other thread on this, it got duplicated

Yep, seems to be system troubles today.....I contacted a mod about it.

I use a damp sponge on the cold glass. I have to rinse it a couple of times, but the glass comes out clean as new. Takes all of 3 or 4 minutes. I've never had creosote, just dark brown ash that comes off easily.

About every third time I clean the glass I use Rutland "White-Off"

It seems to condition the glass and really cleans it well.

In between I use damp sponge and some ash.
Wipe dry with paper towel.
The White off seems to make cleaning with sponge easier.

All I ever use is water & paper towel, and on occasion a little ash to get stubborn stains off. Keep turning the paper towel inside out to a clean section and wiping until nothing brown shows on it, then dry with a dry paper towel till the glass squeaks.

Glass is like the day I got the stove.

I think you can get that off. Try a single edge razor blade.

I have some white stuff on my Fahrenheit. It was there when I bought it, and it won't come off. It is essentially etched, as you said.

It even has a "rough" feel to it.

Thanks Mad Dog, just what I thought. I tried everyone's suggestions to no avail on other Harmans.

If its going to come off it will usually do it with a super hot clean burn.
