This is mine for the taking just wondering what kind of wood this is? Haven't seen it in person, just the picture.

Thanks.

How'd dem logs get stacked like dat witout fallen' over?==c

Red or pin oak vote.

Red oak. The one with green on it looks like a maple.

I'll vote Red Maple, especially here in ct, heartwood does not have the typical red oak look. Smooth bark with vertical splits and light wood lead me to Red Maple.

It all looks like maple to me. I think it is Red Maple. but maybe there is some Sugar Maple in there too.

I'm with Wood Duck. It all looks like soft maple. I can't see a single stick of anything that looks like oak.

Thanks Guys. Just wanted to make sure its something not worth the effort.
I would take it no matter what the species. I cant imagine ANY wood destined for firewood not worth the effort when it has been cut down and dragged out of the woods. Or off someones lawn where all the dangerous work has been done. And the logs piled just right for cutting up. Thats a sweet pile of BTUs no matter how you look at it.

I would also guess a red oak on top and a young silver maple on the bottom.

Looks like smaller Red Oak with young Silver or Red Maple below too me also. That's a good score.I'll cut or bring home anything except Ailanthus/Tree Of Hell.
