Holy crap. $15k from the government to install a pellet boiler? Makes me wish I lived in MA.

Don't get your hopes up! I installed a solar system as a backup when the power goes out. Georgia promised 35% tax credit. The equipment had to be installed and functioning in the year it was claimed on income tax. I did the detailed submission to the energy board and they approved my installation. When I sent that paper to the Georgia IRS, I got a letter back saying that they had already awarded all of the allocated money for not just 2012 but all the way up to 2015!!!! Now how in the heck can you award money for something that is 'already functioning in 2015???' Do we have time travel??? I will get the 30% from the Feds.

What does this mean?

It basically means that there are around 40 grants available ($475,000 / 12,000) to put in an automated wood pellet boiler

$7,000 base grant
$3,000 bulk pellet storage adder
$2,000 Water storage adder
Totals: $12,000

40 grants is a lot and is not a lot.
They typically go fast.

If you want to have a shot at it you will need to have or schedule an energy audit
For those of you interested in this MA grant, you can call (866) 527-7283 to schedule a no cost Home Energy Assessment.
