Tbuff and Gripptide's new scrounge hauler

So GT and I found this on Craigslist last weekend listed for $650. Called the guy since he was only about 10 minutes from my house, went checked it out and made a deal with him.... The guy selling said that if I take all the garbage he had on the trailer at the time he'd sell it for $500, I got him down to $450, hooked it up and was out of there (with title) before he could re-think the sale. When I got home, I started unloading the old sheets of plywood, thin gauge steel, plastic, etc.. only to find 2 - 4ft x 8ft x 3/16 aluminum diamond plate and one additional half that size ! For the current going rate of trailers around here, the trailer itself was an awesome deal, add on the diamond plate and we were in heaven!

Heck yeah, that's a great deal for that! I'd be making some stake sides (removeable ones), and a tailgate of the fold-down variety......that puppy will pay you back many times over!!

Exactly, were going to put some work into it to make it exactly what we need. One of the best things about this trailer is the clearance from bottom to the ground, its actually pretty high so we can pull it right back where we'll be cutting... If Gripptide's Tundra can handle it...

Great score - I am always hunting for the perfect trailer at the perfect price. Yours seems to be all that and more considering you got it 1/2 off or so if you chose to scap the allumininum. I know Alluminum is pricy right now!!

On a side note - As much as he and i joke on the site recently, firewooding as a TEAM is much more efficient and fun!

(firewooding - the act of collecting wood, creating huge piles, splitting, hauling, and stacking)

GT, my little CS-400 isn't just a tailgate saw like someone I knows MS261...

Definition of tailgate saw "saw purchased with the sole intent to put on a folded down tailgate to look pretty and draw fellow wooders eye"

Aluminum diamond plate is worth even more than scrap prices! Keep checking c-list daily and whatever you need will eventually turn up. By the way, we'll be giving hay rides in it later in the spring, all hearth brothers and sisters welcome.

unless something has drastically changed in the last couple of months.... the scrap price of AL makes it not even worth bothering with...

Yeah, I tend to leave the MS261 on the tailgate a lot too...




As I break out the real saw, the MS660. lol
