Just want to show off what I been working in the past two weeks.. this is just half of what's back there. I'm starting to get into the habit of using wood as my workout from now on. It's working wonders on my diet.

What do you think? Ash?

Ash...one of my favorite if not the favorite all things considered. Nice score!

Great work - detailed pics are ash - looks like some darker rounds in the first photo though - all from the same tree? Cheers!

No not all the same tree. I bucked 5 trees. I'll be asking about those dark pieces later on. Just didn't take a picture of them up close.

But I do remember them smelling like mint, not sure.

Thanks, it feels so good.

Nice work

If your splitting by hand then the work out just begun.;) Nice stack, and yes, I know the feeling.

I've been trying to spread my Ash gospel on here but I see not all have heard my sermons :). Look on the flat cut side of those rounds and in the center you will see a small pinhole-that means that it is Ash.

Now please put something into the collection plate! ==c

Yep, I agree with the preacher of the woods and the others, that's ash. Great all-around wood.....dries fast, splits easy, smells great when burning......love it.

And if the other stuff you have smells like mint, I'd be betting on black birch. Another decent wood.....

It sure looks like ash. You're right its a great way to stay in shape too.
Pushing a wheelbarrow full of locust or oak all day is a invigorating!

Another vote for ash... good to cut and process, burns nice, and with the EAB there is an ever increasing supply around here. Nice looking score there!

Don't let anyone steel your ash from the parking lot

I hope that's not a threat... even though someone did take a small pile of rounds I placed near the street. It wasn't you was it?

First load already split. Now onto posting the other wood that I don't know what it is.

You mean you still don't know?

Slit some larger ones for the overnight burns.
