50:1 gas in a can??

I saw cans of pre mixed 40:1 and 50:1 fuel??
Has any one used this yet?
Interesting idea. Too early on Monday morning to think of looking @ prices.

Very expensive. About $7 for the quart can at Lowes I noticed recently.My big Husky holds about 31 ounces & gets pretty thirsty in big wood.I couldnt afford that.Mixing a gallon or 2 at a time is easy & so much cheaper.

x2 on pricy stuff. I use it to store saws but not to run them daily. Because I am a seasonal cutter my saws sit idle for months at a time. When I know I am done cutting for the season I will drain the gas and run them dry. I then add some of the pricy mix in a can stuff and run a little of that into the saw. I just think they set better with good gas that has no ethanol in it.

Uber pricey if you run more than a tank or two a year through your saw. Intended more for seasonal equipment that doesn't get used much.

It's good fuel, but not really affordable when you burn a couple gallons a month or more.

The stuff is a real boon when used in BobUrban's example to store equipment. Not everybody has the option to buy ethanol-free gas to store their equipment with.

Yes, it appeals to the crowd who doesn't want to mix their own fuel, but for most everybody with 2-cycle power equipment, the fact that it won't F up your carburetor's rubber bits over time is a benefit to both mind and wallet.

I have ran 1 can of the premixed stuff in my toro powerlite snowblower (was out plowing and the sidewalk guy left my 2 gal can somewhere--gotta love the help lol). The blower ran great! I wouldn't buy it again, but it did save me from buying another can that I dont need!

Yeah, you are missing the point. The point being not that the gas is premixed with oil but that it has no ethanol.

My life has gotten a whole lot simpler since I started making my own ethanol-free gas. It's like 1965 again when you could put away a saw or mower with gas in it and be confident it would start in a couple pulls come spring. That's worth a couple dollars to me, so I may stop making my own (it's messy) and start using the premix - for the last tank of the season at least.

That is all I use, CA gas is poisonous and eats everything, including the old Fords carb.
My McCullochs love it.

There is another twist to this. I was having problems with our weed whacker. Saw guy suggested I buy a quart of it. Not to run the thing, but to clean it out. After done weed whacking, get all the gas out. Pour in a few ounces of this pre-mix and start it. Run until it runs out. It has been working nicely. Never had problem with the saws so don't use it there; just on the weed whacker with the little tiny engine and no doubt very small jets.

That's worth a couple dollars to me, so I may stop making my own (it's messy) and start using the premix - for the last tank of the season at least.

I've been mixing my shop gas with Star-Tron and equipment that has been sitting all winter with fuel in the tank has been starting up and running just fine. No fuel issues in any of my personal equipment or any of the stuff sitting around waiting for me to get to it.

I'm afraid if I started using the pre-mixed stuff or SEF for the four-stroke engines, I'd go broke with the fuel costs. $30+ a gallon....

I'm glad we don't have that ethanol crap.

I don't bother with messing with anything before storing it. Throw it in the shed and that's it. The generator I have sat 15+ years and it fired up on that gas.... don't know how, that stuff wouldn't even light the trash in my burn barrel when I dumped it out.

Someone threw an empty can of the Stihl mix in my truck, I noticed it's 93 octane. We odon't have that up here.
