I buy these for my Dremel and as of yet, I like them better than anything else out there....

I do like that Timberline sharpener, but for the general touch-up sharpening, once you get good with the Dremel, these stones are the way to go. I can sharpen a 28" chain in under 3 minutes to RAZOR edges....Bump the rakers with a flat file (when required) and you are off to the races.

Files are nice, though, when out in the field......

I have also been using the dremel sharpeners... work great once you get the hang of it. I also use a random grinding stone for the rakers.

I got the dremel for $10. But the files work nice too. My hands just can't take it any more so went to the dremel. Should have done it sooner.

Ray, don't get me wrong. That is a good buy on the files and guide. If you are up to it, go for it!

Right on for the Dremmel. I been using it for years, and love it. Gonna check those stones out you got Scotty, These dremmel ones wear down mighty fast.

I have a Stihl and an Oregon kit like that. Makes the chain like new with little effort and does not require much skill either. Sharpened free hand for years with varied results. With the kit it always comes out nice.

The stihl kit is almost twice the price here. But it is nice to have the little carrying kit.

Got the similar kit & Like it.
Use it all the time when cutting, real easy if bar is in a vise.
95% of the time I sharpen in the shop after a day's cutting.
Helps with the angle.

Everything you need to file a chain.
Nice guide & file for the raker height too.

Bought the kit and is well made and includes a nice nylon pouch too.. Best deal I could find for a full kit..

There is a Sharpening Kit from Makita in the new Baileys catalog. It's under $10 and a very nice kit. Contains EVERYTHING.

Some pretty good deals in there this month. I know some hate that place. But I get a bunch of free shipping offers and there deals are sometimes hard to beat.

The oregon files and guides I have require you have different guide for each size file to match , so I don't get how his kit works out with just one guide for all sizes
The stihl kits also come with matching file n guide for each size , 7/32 ,5/32 and 3/16 each have a different guide to be used with matching file..
I'm not saying there is any thing wrong with the kit, I just don't understand why the others require matching files n guides and this particular kit does not

I have that set as a backup in my truck door in case I forget files or my timberline which I do sometimes ! It his good I have used it a lot and like it. You cant go wrong for $12.
