I started back cutting this cherry up front, used the winch with the Rhino to pull the leaner down, still more good wood left but need a good melt. The last pic should be some splits left from last fall.

That is behind our neighbors so since it was Good Friday I was out of there by 1:00.

The area it will be stacked in has the wood we still are burning stacked there, not much left so once we finish the wood stacking will start.

It will have a two summers of seasoning before we burn it.

Looks good Zap just can't go wrong with morte cherry.....I will probably get into something firewood related tomorrow but not sure what yet. I have a lot of splitting to do,about 2 pickups worth of silver maple to haul home from my MIL's house or 10 acres of tree tops to work on. Guess I'll flip a coin. Have a good Easter and make sure you eat well.

Sounds like you have enough work to keep you busy all summer. Eating is never a problem, have a good Easter too.

It sounds like we will get rain on Sunday, might be time I sharpen some chains on the grinder.

Yes rain here too on the forecast but I'll just stay close to the food after church......I'm doing the cooking for about 12 people, 15 pound ham in the slow cooker cooked in ginger ale. Wife is baking pies and some good friends are bringing cherry pie and then will crank out some homemade vanilla ice cream.

I wish we lived closer, it sounds great, any chance of pics?

That might not happen, once the hills open up for cutting I'm getting the downed beech first. It will be stacked before the last day of April, I plan on screwing around trout fishing every so often.

Busiest man on the forum. I think you have our friend Dennis beat Zap.

Thanks.
Ive been meaning to ask that myself. Are you above Glensfalls? or are you more west of Champlain valley? I ask because you guys mention the weather alot in these threads and I read this more than weather reports. I imagined you were up toward Lake Placid region for some reason. The way your pictures look.

Be cautious of men from Matildaville.

North of Placid by a good hour.

Gas, have you been able to get back in the woods yet?

A little. But the last days off I had my son was sick with some kind of virus. Nothing we could do but keep him home and have him drink liquids, eat popsicles, and take some Ibuprofin. That meant Dad was watching him. For some reason he seemed to enjoy the time off from school. Especially when he was allowed to play Skylanders!
