Hi,
Just got my first lopi pioneer pellet stove. We put it in on Saturday, filled it and fired it up. It started fine, but a half and hour later the fault light came on it's #4 error. So we cleaned the whole stove and the same light comes back on, tried adjusting the restrictor same light, tried different pellets same light, checked the door same light. I don't know what else to do.

When you did all these things did you unplug the stove and plug it back in? You checked the door....I imagine you meant the seal? did you also check the ash pan seal?

What does #4 mean in the manual?
• Heater Ran Out of Pellets
• Heater Did Not Start-Up Correctly
• Power Outage
• Restrictor Not Set Properly
• Burnpot Clogged
• Air Leak
• Heavy Ash Build-Up

Is this a new or used stove?

Yes and no it's an older model but has never been used. It was made in 06.

Hello

Could be a problem with a dirty vacuum hose, clogged vacuum port on the exhaust, or bad vacuum switch. Try checking the vacuum hose to assure it is not blocked up with ash and stick a pipe cleaner into the barb on the exhaust to make sure it is open. If that is ok, check the vacuum switch with a continuity tester or temporarily bypass it with a jumper to see if the stove works.

Hi Don did clean out of the vacuum tube port, but that didn't work. Not sure how to jump the vacuum switch to see if that's bad. Thanks.

Your low limit/proof of fire snap disc is one likely spot for what is essentially a loss of fire indication.

I can be jumped for a test just be certain that you have the stove off, cold, and unplugged before jumping it.

The convection blower will likely start along with the combustion blower when you plug the stove in or try to start it.

Do not run the stove any longer than it takes to determine if this helps the situation.

If those switches get ash/soot covered or loose, the stove shuts down indicating an out of fuel situation (this is usaully when the stove is in low burn).

You also might have the restrictor (damper) open too much causing the stove to burn up the pellets too fast.

Where do I find the limit/proof of fire snap disc? Thanks

It is usually mounted against the combustion blower housing or against the heat exchanger, there should be an exploded parts diagram in the manual that should help you find it.

Don: it wasn't the vacuum switch. Any other ideas? Thanks

I would also suggest the Hi Limit Switch. That will stop the auger from turning. You can jump it out the same way.

If not the High Limit Sw or Low Limit Sw then the Control panel could be at fault if there are no vacuum leaks in the door gasket(s)

Thanks everyone for your help I would have never known that the convection blower was missing! I called the store where I bought it and they are going to get me one.()

Well ain't that special, selling a stove that is missing parts.

Since you have now opened up the sides of the stove take that exploded parts diagram and wiring diagram and with the stove off, cold, and unplugged get familiar with every part and wire it has.

hold on one or two of the blowers is missing how in the blue tarnation is that possible (always wanted to say that) hehe is the dealer a moron or just wanted the stove out of his shop and didn't care

Just the one blower I think you're right about wanting it out of the shop he was half p.oed when I called him on it, because he gave us a thirty day warranty on it.

Since the stove had been sitting for so long, it IS possible the dealer (or someone working for him) took the blower out to fix another stove, and just forgot to replace it. When I bought my Astoria, that dealer also had a Quad CB1200 I could have had, but it too was missing a part.

I think so because we had to go back and get other missing parts.
