Hi Guys, I have a problem with an older Earth Stove Traditions Model 1000. I replaced the lower 6 rpm auger and now it feeds continuously, quickly overflowing the burn tray. The auger indicator light pulses on and off but the augers run steady. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks WM

Have you "watched" it spin continuously?

Did it have a 6RPM auger from the factory?

Control board??

Harman does make a fine unit? ;). J/K Hopefully someone with some actual knowledge of that model will be along shortly. But a continuous spin, would make me think board issue?!?

Welcome to the Forum. What kinda stove do you have? Any pics??

Hi Dexter - thanks for the reply. I opened up the panel after I buttoned everything back up after the auger motor replacement and it did indeed spin continuously regardless of the timing of the auger indicator light on the panel. Quickly overflowed the burn tray and burning pellets landed below and started a little bonfire. The 6 rpm replacement motor came from Mountian View Hearth Products as a repair part for the Earth Stove Traditions Model 1000. I am leaning towards the control board but there is just no way they can pay $400 for the board from an online source. Do you know of a timer that I can directly wire to the lower auger unit? Thanks - by the way I (myself) own and heat with an older Quadra Fire 1000. Thanks WM

Any constructive advice?
I thought my advice got right to the point;) I had to deal with an earth stove a few years back and after pricing out all the parts needed to fix and the not so good tech advice the homeowner decided on a Harman. Earth Stove ended up in the scrap yard. Hopefully things have changed and you have better luck. Maybe an Earth Stove owner will chime in soon with a remedy:cool:

"Maybe an Earth Stove owner will chime in soon with a remedy" - that's what I was hoping for in the first place. If they could toss it out and just go buy a new one I wouldn't be wasting my time trying to fix it. As you said - hopefully someone with some actual knowlege about the Earth Stove Model 1000 will show up and point me in the right direction. WM
