So scouted 2 Douglas Fir Trees the other day, both snags......One a leaner that was tough to take down cleanly, but did it 3 feet at a time from the bottom up until it was almost straight up...then pushed it over. Slightly out of order but the first pic is after I pushed it over, the second is what I came across, the third is another snag that was broken off half way through (it was 26 inches across at the bass, the fourth is the resulting 1 cord plus in the garage, split most of it with the Fiskars in the woods, the last few rounds I had to bring home (no more energy) but split them all later after 3 beers.
I know, I know....pics or it did not happen:

I've done that but it scares the hell out of me.

Believe me, I jumped way back (had my plan of escape well mapped out ahead of time) with every cut....re-surveyed and then next cut...did that about 10 times before I could get it upright to push it over. Scary stuff, but an adrenaline rush!

Nice looking wood.
How many trips for the 1+ cords?

You are looking at it...just barely over a cord here.
