Not a big surprise, since most Jred and Husqvarna saws are the same.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, and everything Oregon was gone. It was replaced by the CountyLine store brand. Everything was locked up. I wanted to buy a scrench, but had to find someone to unlock them. WTF? I just left, with another reason not to buy there.

From an AS post:

Jonsered consumer models, 2255 and down, will replace Husky in TSC, with Husky units staying in Lowes.

I was asking myself "Why?" but now it makes more sense to me.

Kinda funny tho, taking the Husqvarna name out of TSC as it is much more widely recognized than Jonsered.

Great! If they go on sale I am certain the will have lost of stock!:p

Husky = JRed = Poulan... they also own MaC and some other saw brands. Many JRed models are exact copies of Husky saws, but a tad cheaper.

I read someplace recently that Husq. is going to be making their own bars now, and so they are dumping the rebranded Oregon B&C that they have been using.

Home Depot here does not have any Husky saws. They have low end smaller Poulans and Echos. Coastal Farm and Ranch in Oregon has mid range Husky saws.

Lowes carries the Huskys.
If TSC is going to carry Jred that will hurt our local Jred dealer for sure.
Too bad. Another small biz fighting the big boxes.

If I were the local JRed dealer, I wouldn't be too upset. Trading off the razor thin margin new equipment sales for a big uptick in parts/service sales sounds like a deal in my favor. Remember, TSC will not be selling top-of-the-line (read: higher margin) saws to discerning professional customers. That would still be the dealer's job. There is very little profit to be made just selling entry-level home-owner equipment.

No tractor supplies around here, don't hurt my feelers one bit. I went into one in Texas and one in Maine and I decided almost right away it was pretty much a worthless store.

They had a little bit of everything, but alot of nothing. Like my brother said, if he wants feed, he goes to the feed store. If he needs hydraulic lines, he goes to the rubber supplie/line store. You'd think that a place called TRACTOR Supply would have tractor parts? Yeah... like a 20ft row of a few 3pt hitch bars, pins, couple lights and some oils...

TSC is fine for the home "handyman" that needs a set of mower blades and wants to "oh...ah" at all the other junk they have in there I guess?

A hardware store is AIH (Alaska Industrial Hardware) I try to not go too often since I usually walk out with $500+ of stuff that I didn't even know I needed!

It's a little different around here dude, TS has things other stores do not offer.
Things U can find online , but can not see feel, touch.
With all due respect , for your opinion, you should take into account the area, and what is available, if I walked into a Alaska Industrial Hardware,I I am sure !! would say WOW, this place knows what I need:)
Ts fills a nitch ,hardware stores and big box do not.
Do I get what I need at one place ???? NO

Perhaps. I know the one in Houlton, ME has nothing that isn't available elsewhere, usually of better quality as well.

The TSC here has more 3pt tractor attachments than the big John Deere dealer. The only one that is left.
