Went to go get a bag of pellets from the garage and this is what I see....

The DOW where I live encourages us to haze the bears with 12ga rubber buckshot.

Well I haven't run into any trouble with two of the three that I use, that 22 issue is because of all of the new units that were purchased, I guess you have to have a cheap means for learning how to shoot before graduating to the more expensive stuff.

I don't go plinking so the 22 supply issue is a moot point for me. I have more than enough to handle the dispatching jobs I have to do.

Let's see have we covered a wide enough range in this pellet mill thread?

We harvested our first vegetable from the garden yesterday, the second raised bed with the parsnips thawed out enough that we were able to dig a few out. They are getting new green tops.

I was thinking the same thing... Bears, bird feeders, trash, beer, pellets, ammo and now parsnips

It must be getting late in the heating season, and everyone's got cabin fever - ya think?

We think of them as a free security system.I doubt anyone would be poking aroun d my place with this in the yard.

Bears, bird feeders, trash, beer, pellets, ammo and now parsnips

Bear & Bird Feeders: Anyone hear the story about the guy in MA who shot at a bear while filling his bird feeders?

Trash & Parsnip: I cleaned up the back yard yesterday and found that the Collard Greens were coming back so I gave the Turtle some to show him it is springtime.

Ammo: I buy whatever I find and have a hard time finding anything lately.

Yeah, I read in the article where the environmental guy told the home owner "you should have called me"...

Just another sign the apocalypse is upon us...

Someone needs to put that guy in a field and drip the contents of a can of sardines on him when the bears are coming out of their dens.

Had a freind who spilled some sardine juice on his hunting jacket during deer season, ended up dropping a charging bear shortly after having had his lunch.

The woman in Standish I mentioned earlier had been charged by a sow with triplets.

Normally a bear will go one way and you go the other, except when they are hungry and actively looking for food or they have young in tow and perceive you as a threat.

Never ever cross a sow (or for that matter most mother animals) with cubs (young).

Momma's can get pretty mean ... just ask my kids former school principals.

When MNR wanted to remove a nuisance bear from town, it was my husband who had to inject it (no tranq gun available). Not the police or the MNR officers with their handguns but the firefighter with an axe.:p
