Well I wanted to report my findings to all you boiler heads. I'm on track to burn around 8 cord total this winter. That's 2 more than I burnt with my old wood stove, but I'm heating a work shop the size of my house to 50 - 55 degrees, The boiler shed, All my hot water, and no supplemental heat in the rooms far away from the stove, like I did with the wood burner. Pretty happy with that amount. It's a lot of work to process that much wood, but even if I bought all my wood It would still be way cheaper than electric or oil heat. I figure it saves me approximately $10.00 each time I load and fire the boiler compared to using electric. Happy burning to all.

Woodsmaster..

I told my wife, every time she fills the vigas it's a 20 dollar bill. Helped motivate her to not let oil take over.

I'm going to be at about 4 cords this year. Not to shabby.

House stays a 70 down stairs and 68 up stairs + all the hot water you can use. Everyone is happy.
