Pellets that were great now suck......
Hamer's
Somerset's
I know there's alot more because i read your post's, so add to my list!

Hamer's are NOT what they used to be,even CTpellet has mentioned privately they are chit, dont be fooled alot of pellets that WERE great 2-3 yr's ago SUCK NOW!!
I will NOT pay more than box price!!
So the heat may be less, but that's why here's heat settings on your stoves, CRANK IT UP!!

Good to know, Thanks.

I heard Scott say that about Cubex, But not Hamers. What he said to me is Hamers can fool you with the size density thing. You'll get awesome heat, But they don't last as long as some of the others.

Just remember others may have stove size issues and it doesn't always work as you say. Once you hit the max feed setting, And the stove still doesn't have enough. You can get more heat from it from a higher density pellet. What works for you may not work for the average Joe!

Just picked up a TON of HAMMERS. They had a pretty decent amount for the time of year, and NO WAITING either !

Pretty bogus early-buy prices up here. PWIs are $16 higher than last year's early buy, and only about $15 less than the regular price from this winter. Okanagans can be had for the bargain early-buy price of $299. Crazy.

Yea, I saw the listings they sell a lot of different pellets but nothing is ever a good price. I wont mention who it is Ive bought pellets a couple times there but felt ripped at the end of the day. Nice folks but I wont pay that much anymore.

Well, I'm not going to pay for someone else to deliver when I only live 15 minutes from those guys. I haven't been too impressed with the big-box offerings, so.......

PWI's aren't reduced at the place where I get them and Vt are only $10 off. They also have NewEngland's for $10 off, but not for me...

Here in Western Mass TSC raised their prices on their latest batch of MWP pellets. They are now up to $229 per ton. Last autumn they were selling for $209. I just split a ton with a friend-- he was down to his last 3 bags, I was down to my last 8 bags. Maybe TSC has inside info on local pellet user's storage habits in these parts and adjusts their pricing based on how desperate some of their customers may be around now?

That said, I haven't even needed to use my pellet stove for the past few days and it looks like I won't be for the near future. I probably could have lasted the season out with those 8 bags but I wasn't in the mood to take the chance of having to turn on the electric heat.

A few years ago natural gas kicked pellet and wood stoves to the curb. Looks like it may happen again with these prices.

woodpellets.com sent an email blast out this morning.

nothing im really interested in brand wise or price wise. save $20 on 3 tons. whoopdie do. thanks for the $7 off per ton. That's 14 cents a bag.

The bigger savings are on the softwoods, they are $20 ton, or at least when they compare it to their previous prices. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the Clearfire Pacific, it's that or Barefoots, which I can buy at the same price with a local dealer.

Retailers out of pellets!? I didn't think they were seasonal anywhere but the big box stores. I can get 100% doug fir Clean Burn pellets at a local lumber yard year round for $198/ton, the price never varies. I never have more than a ton on hand at any time, because when I get low, I just go buy another pallet of pellets.

I don't know you, but I hate you. Just kidding. That unfortunately is not our world in this neck of the woods. I wish it was.....

I'm pretty sure WoodPellets.com ships out of multiple locations. Their offices are (or were) in Goffstown NH. In some places they offer local pick-up. In the Manchester NH area they have local pick-up via a local garden center. It shows up at as an option at the bottom of the page when you search on a zip code.

No real savings around here. Been burning the Firesides for the past few weeks and I think I'm gonna get a ton for the start of next season. Decent for $197 a ton.

Just saw oil is down from a high of $3.85/gal to $3.55/gal so why are pellets going up? This is a good reason to move to FL or a warmer climate just so you don't have to deal with this BS.

if you don't think bugs, senior citizens everywhere, and swamps are BS.... Florida calls :D

i swapped 2 bags of somersets for 2 bags of the clean fire doug fir and wasnt impressed at all.i have a pellet sifter and it kept clogging up the mesh screen with wood chips that were 3/4 to 1" long.have to say its the 1st time ive ever seen anything like that in a bag of pellets.heat was avg compared to most stuff ive tried.i upped the air and that didnt seem to help much.inside of stove is black.most i could get out of them temp wise was 260deg on heat level 3.sets,barefoot and even the firesides are all around the 300deg mark.
go with the barefoot.

well, possibly, for those of you lucky enough to have NG available to you...in the Northeast, which, oddly enough, is the largest pellet consuming region in the country, our most common choice is propane.....still think its a great deal (gas versus pellets/wood)? Any of you propane guys want to chime in here?

No got gas here. Well, except after dinner. Ours is electric, cord wood, pellets or freeze.
