I went to Lowe's a few nights ago. My main snow shovel wore out and the metal cutting edge fell off (what remained of it). All they had for shovels was a few crappy ones on clearance.
Had all the grass seed, mowers, hoses, fertiziler, etc all out on display though. Who the hell is in charge of that? Someone from Florida?!

You've got snow - we've got rain, rain and more rain. Almost 4 inches since Sunday I guess.

I like the snow better than a week of rain (4" WOW ) but the temps are colder than the norm.
Should be melting the snow but only getting 20s day time temps.

shoot Dave I could have surfed all the way home 34 miles with the wind and rain. It hasn't let up for more than a couple hours the last few days.Sounds like you could do that in the yard, Shari.
It could help speed up the stacking.

Still raining....... it's letting up a little. It's to the point I don't even want to listen to the weather forecast anymore even though I did hear we've had 4.8" of rain since Sunday........
I am SO glad I had traffic bond brought in to raise the rear area where I have wood stacks. Those stacks are about 6' inside the lot line, yard pitches down to the lot line at a small grade. I think it was 69 contractor wheelbarrows of gravel I had dumped in a 16x24' stacking area. Right now, our rear lot line is a lake 8' wide from side lot line to side lot line and the water continues to our neighbors on both sides of us - but my stacks are high and dry.

I don't know if I'd rather have rain or snow. Snow doesn't bother me all that much as we've got a riding mower with a knockout fantastic snowblower on it.
I was up the ladder last weekend cleaning out our gutters in preparation for the rain forecasted. We've got a locust tree that drops those seeds pods all winter long and they clog up the gutters. I noticed we've got a couple of gutter straps that let loose from the snow load we had this winter so I have to get up there and fix them before next winter. I really don't like ladder work but, oh well....

I bought one of these last year and it works great. I get a TON of cottonwood floaters in the spring/ early summer, looks like it's snowing when a breeze picks up. Cleaned the garage a few days ago and I was still finding piles of them in the corners.

There are areas around here where cottonwood trees are prohibited because their 'floaters' clog up air conditioning vents and pool filters.
We raked up our locust seeds last fall, raked them up again during a January thaw (no snow on the ground), did it again the end of February (another thaw) and need to do it again. Most times we can collect three 33 gallon garbage cans of the stinkers in one raking. The only good thing is this tree doesn't drop seeds every year. Right now our lawn looks horrible because of all the seeds.
That tool you linked to would work in warm weather but most of the time we are dealing with the seeds in cold weather.

Sister posted pics on Facebook on Sunday -- her birthday -- said when they started out it was in the negative numbers and enough snow for her to do over 100 miles on the sled.
As for me . . . I went to St. Stephen/St. Andrews to geocache and enjoy the spring weather -- albeit it was damp and a bit dreary . . . but no snow or sub zero temps.
