That I was done doing this stuff. But two oaks died at the top of the driveway so I called the power company and asked them if they wanted to save that transformer and pole on the other side of the driveway or not. If not I would drop the double mated oaks. They showed up within 24 hours.

I was hoping to see a post like this from you.

Purple Haze!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. Camera hadn't been turned on in a couple of years or so. At first it didn't work at all and then when it did it had the thing across the top. That's OK. It has had the crap used out of it over the years. It's old. I understand how that works.

BTW: Just like all tree services, not one log can be bucked to nice split lengths with out a significant "chunk" piece at the end of it. But since a tree service quoted a grand to bring them down I will get over it. Suckers were in the 80 foot tall range.

FYI - cases of well placed beer will help in the bucked length department.

It's good to make nice with the guys that turn your power back on after a storm or lone fallen tree.
Even dropping a box of doughnuts off when things are quiet and saying hello - makes things happen fast

Man I hope the next time I say that, it will be two years! ;)

LOL only been 9 days since I dropped one, just one half of a twin dead White Oak 15" diameter x 70' tall.If I wasnt still fighting this stomach bug since late Thursday, the other half would be on the ground already.

I'm getting tired of waiting, called in sick today, first missed day of work in 7 weeks, even with 3 days of heavy rain last week. Its not going anywhere though.

Those Northern VA Fairfax fellers just have to snap there fingers though....;) trees gone!

You gonna need at buy another "chuckycheese" saw to get that all bucked up?

You have lots of time, slow & easy ;)

Actually fired the "Chusky Chainsaw" this afternoon to see if it was ready to go. For those big chunks though Old Yaller is gonna have to go to work.

With a 900 foot driveway with the lines running up it surrounded by trees me and the right of way supervisors have known each other for 28 years. Especially after I yanked the Stihl out of one Asplunth guy's hands and threw it in the creek ten years ago. ;lol He didn't know that I am from West Texas and speak Spanish.

So much for not cutting any more. ;) I predict there will be a few more oaks you'll need to cut up in future years.

Thats why I had my lines buried underground when I had this house built 20 yrs ago:cool: My driveway is a little over 700 ft.

Half of my driveway is in a road right of way easement for a road that never got built. Had they known the road wouldn't be built mine would be underground too. I am the only house on the transformer at the top of the driveway. A two hundred pair telco cable is buried beside the driveway too. Every time it fills up with water the Verizon backhoes show up.
