In The Woods
Had a chit load of small wood down that I cleared so I could get back in, then down in where the Cherry was.

After I bucked up the Cherry I cut my way out, it brought me to the area I did some milling last summer, that brought me to the trail that runs above the brook.

A full days work would get us a much better trail in that area, that will have to wait. I hauled 1.5 loads back to the splitter, this week will be spent stacking and splitting.

This is a new area that I never cut in, lots of White Pine down.

The cherry looks like it was saving itself for you..mostly off the ground.
Got a good bit of pine and maybe some Hemlock?? in the rounds pile.

I have no Pine or Hemlock in the last pic, it's mostly Cherry with some Maple. The stuff that looks like Hemlock is Cherry without the bark.

Zap, how is the brook? Overflowing?

Not even close, it's actually down for this time of year. The river is getting the snow melt from Tupper Lake NY, but I'm not seeing it in the brook.

Well, maybe we can send some water your way. It is terrible here. I would love to plant some peas but can't even walk in the garden area.

I think this week we have two days with a 30% chance of rain, we're starting out dry in Northern NY.

We were supposed to be dry too. However, last night they changed the forecast and sure enough, it is raining. Not a lot but right now a little is too much. For sure nobody got any corn planted in April this year. We need sun, wind and warm to dry out.

I still have all this Cherry up front that needs splitting, the rest needs bucking up.

I like the pictures from 4/28 much better that 3/29. NO SNOW. I brought home a nice truck load of cherry and ash yesterday. I think my days in the woods are drawing to an end until fall. The underbrush and multiflora rose is coming on. May get a couple more outing in we'll just have to see. Got plenty of that splitting you're talking about though....not to mention the grass mowing now and mulching soon to come. The cold hung on so long this year it's like boom Summer work is on us. Just told the wife yesterday do you realize we open the pool in about 2 weeks. Not complaining just rambling. I am a blessed man.

The area I worked in today will be thicker than thick in about three weeks with ferns, up top is where I cut once things start greening up down bottom, topped off Maple here I come.

Yard work around here is working in the woods.

Not going to use the "R" or "S" word.

I was getting gas last week when another car pulled in, I could here a different noise so I looked at the tires, studded. It's late in this area to be running studded tires.
